[Importance of Elevator Maintenance]

According to a 2008 report, South Korea has around 400,000 elevators running in buildings. Many industry experts voice together that maintenance in fact is more important than installing because a safety accident can lead to a disaster as it carries people and goods. The year 2008 alone had 154 elevator accidents. Thankfully, the number of accidents has been steadily reduced: 72 in 2019 and 86 in 2020. “A careless passenger also can cause an accident but most accidents actually occur due to poor maintenance. In other words, they were preventable if proper and on time check and repair was made” points out Youngsun Kim, CEO of Hanyoung Elevator.
