ICT Innovation Square is government-led project that fosters AI and tech experts on regional basis. In Chungcheong Province, the government promised to foster AI and SW experts in quantity through AI and block chain cooperation models with the targets of number of experts in Daejeon 470, north of the province 150, south of the province 300 and Sejong 80.

Uisun Choi, Director of Korea Polytechnics Asan Industry-Academic Cooperation, predicts that the government’s ICT Innovation Square will play a great role in leading innovative growth and also dispersing the capital-centered AI and SW training to regional.

ICT stands for Information and Communications Technologies. It is received in South Korea as a leading sector of the Korean New Deal, and Korea Polytechnics Asan is in charge of fostering related experts in the region. Its curriculum focuses on AI and block chain in line with big data, cloud, Google AI, machine learning, smart factory, semiconductor, car parts and display automation.

GPU and the Hadoop and Cassandra-based distributed DB environment are especially notable as they are backed up with deep learning library. Successful students are expected to secure a job in manufacturing, public, financial, medical and many more sectors that require theses cutting edge skills after graduation.

“Talking about ICT, big data always comes along. The use of big data was restricted to astronomy, aerospace and human genome in the past but it is widespread in many fields today including e-commerce and social media. The coming years will be a hyper connected society as the technology, especially ICT, marches forward and brings more innovations and conveniences to our lives.
