(PowerKorea) The sea is called the source of lives on earth. A living organism originated from the sea can mean minerals are the sources of lives. The sea covers 70% of the earth and it is consisted of water, salt and minerals. Minerals are a very important element in our body. The blood of a man must contain about 0.9% salt for normal metabolism and the balance breaks if the amount drops below 0.8%. Calcium, iron, natrium, magnesium, iodine and selenium are kinds of minerals. Not a single living thing on earth can synthesize minerals itself except being absorbed.

Ociad is a South Korean company that pulls up deep water through pipeline from 600 meter below the 6km offing of Gosung County Gangwon Province to make mineral-rich salt. Deep water has more than 20 degree temperature difference with surface water and it hardly can be mixed. It does not encounter with the atmosphere during the 4,000 years of time. The distinguishing characters of deep water are eutrophic, clean, low temperature, mature and high mineral. Density is very high and the maturing takes a long time which makes our body to absorb it easily.

Ociad breaks deep water into fine particles like mists, spread it into the air and adds strong heated wind. The moisture evaporates immediately leaving the all minerals which gathered into salt and drops down like snowflakes. The technique that makes this possible is the Ociad’s patented ‘instant air salt crystal technology’.

Deep water is directly pulled up to the factory through the pipeline without any impurities. And the result is MQ Snow Salt. A test from KIAST proved detecting no fine dust from MQ Snow Salt. Note that some sea salts sold on the market were found to contain impurities like fine plastic.

MQ Snow Salt is a perfect low natrium high mineral salt. It has 25% less natrium than normal salts on the market while tens of times more minerals. 99% of salts we eat are sodium chloride that has nearly none of minerals.

“Mineral is one of the five nutrients alongside protein, fat, carbon hydrate and vitamin. Lack of iodine can cause abnormality in thyroid while calcium causes osteoporosis in bones for example. Minerals affect all physical activities and it is must needed when cells divide. Deep water is clean and has 80 kinds of natural minerals and we can consume these minerals through mineral salts” says Ociad CEO Park Won-yong.

While other salts cause problems when overeaten, MQ Snow Salt does not thanks to other minerals it contains in balance which play control of blood pressure. Park says that the sea contains around 3.4% salt but 28 to 40% can make NaC1 which we eat in our daily life. But Ociad’s patented ‘instant air salt crystal technology’ makes all minerals into salt without bitter taste. It tastes almost like sports drink.

Nuchi-una Salt Factory in Okinwa Japan makes similar salts like Ociad but it makes it with surface water instead of deep water. It became so popular that yearly 250,000 people paid a visit to the factory before the pandemic.

Park jumped into a research and development for 15 years from 2002 and started producing salts from 2018 with his own design of production equipment and facilities. He won the Jang Yeong Sil Awards and was aired on YTN Science channel Biz Life. The energy minister of the Republic of Kiribati paid a visit to Park’s factory for cooperation and South Korean SMEs and Startups Minister Park Young-sun once joined the selling of MQ Snow Salt.

MQ Snow Salt currently is sold at Kakao online and pharmacies offline.
