¡ã Oh Jang Hoon's Homerun Farm / CEO Oh Jang-hoon

The end means a new beginning. This physical law however comes not easy for humans in reality. Starting a new career after finishing a career often requires courage and challenge with fear of failure.

Oh Jang-hoon, CEO of Oh Jang Hoon's Homerun Farm, was born in Seogwipo City Jeju Island. When he was 5th grade of elementary school, he packed and flew to Seoul, the capital city, to become a baseball player.

Away from home and no place to rest, he lived off the manager's house of the baseball team for a while. In 2008, he joined Lotte Giants and in 2011 Doosan. He turned position to pitcher from batter in 2015 and participated in the spring camp the next year.

One day, he came to a deep thought about his life. Being a baseball instructor might be an option after retirement. But he decided to pack and flew back to the island leaving behind 22 years of his career as a baseball player.

Back home in Seogwipo, he started to grow tangerine and opened Oh Jang Hoon's Homerun Farm. His father has lived whole life growing tangerine and once received a presidential citation for excellence in farming.

The farm house is 13,223 square meter big on a 19,834 square meter land and it harvests Oh hwanggeumhyang, redhyang, hanrabong and tangerine every year.

I start working in the farm at 5:30 am everyday like I did during my whole baseball career. I won a number of prizes but I wasn't recognized as much as that. But farming brings me fruits as much as I worked. This is a charm of being a farmer" says Oh.
