Board members of many domestic companies are homeworking to avoid spread of COVID-19. Prolonged homeworking can create security issues and some experts show concerns. Hackers are targeting COVID-19 virus information, management system and board members accounts to attack and complaints are piled up. Meanwhile, eWBM CEO Stephen Oh announced that he succeeded application of FIDO to Internet Explorer. It can be seen as a popularization declaration of FIDO device. In other words, Oh developed API that enables use of FIDO on Internet Explorer.

An official of eWBM said “FIDO supports Chrome, Windows10, Mac, Ms Edge but Internet Explorer is limited. The eWBM’s recent technology was to make API that connects the server to clients. In other words, we succeeded application of FIDO to Internet Explorer so domestic companies and public institutions can use FIDO services.” CEO Oh said “Most companies and public institutions still use Internet Explorer at large in South Korea and it often requires downloading and installing ‘active X’. The eWBM’s innovative achievement this time will turn the environment easier and more convenient.”

Low price FIDO security released!

eWBM announced that it will release low price FIDO security key that is loaded with the advantages and the platforms of eWBM series. Despite low price, it can keep security safely. In fact, it is already being widely used on iPad and Mac PC overseas. CEO Oh said “Most organizations using Internet Explorer has good and bad points. Whichever it is, our new technology will expand security key in South Korea as the price is affordable this time.” Low price FIDO security is only $10 or 10,000 South Korean won. Prior to the releasing, eWBM engaged in a campaign for homeworkers to be protected from online phishing attacks.

Currently, the price ranges of security keys are around $50 based on Amazon. Domestic security keys, on the other hand, are sold around 50,000 to 60,000 won. This means that companies that need security keys can feel burdened. For this, eWBM released pricing structure policy alongside low price security key for domestic companies and public institutions alike. Companies and institutions can choose a choice of 24 months or 36 months pricing structure like installment or lease. It is economically very encouraging considering the fact that a server can cost tens of thousands of dollars and it goes up to hundreds of thousands of dollars when included tools. eWBM is a member of the MISA (Microsoft Intelligent Security Association).
