Located in Baebang-eup, Asan City, Lee Mi Sun Textile Art greets visitors with all sorts and kinds of natural colors and traditional patterns. The store serves as an exhibition hall as well as her studio where she makes them into beautiful scarves, neckties, bags and daily goods. 

Lee is an expert in realizing traditional patterns and colors of lotus, crown, flower, sky and sunset onto textile. Unlike other natural dyed products, Lee leveled up dominant colors to emphasize harmony between tradition and contemporary. 

“I use my unique way of dye to create my own colors and patterns. Colors can easily become monotonous so it is important to give an emphasis on each product whether a scarf, a necktie or a bag” explains Lee.

From choosing materials to dyeing and production, Lee uses her hands to give perfect finish to each product. For this reason, using quality materials is a must. In fact, many of her clients prefer quality to price.

Lee majored in industrial design but fell in love with natural dye in 2007. She made 100 works within 6 months of starting the dye and held her first solo exhibition. Until now, she has held 5 time solo exhibitions, 6 time fashion shows and has been invited to a number of art fairs home and abroad. 

She listed her name in the Baekje Excellent Design and won a number of prizes at various competitions including the Korea Crafts, Chungnam Crafts, and High Seoul Awards. She also taught trainees from Africa traditional Korean dye. 

Her ‘goblin’ works and ‘seonneo (Taoist fairy)’ works are to be sold at the duty free shop at the Incheon International Airport. It is her plan to spread ‘seonneo’ brand and the name Lee Mi Sun to the world over Korea.
