One of the reasons people visit art galleries is because they want to have a time for rest and healing. And this might also be one of the reasons that many artist paint landscape.
Artist Jeongim Baek is famous for landscape painting. She recently unveiled her large scale painting <Whispers of Ivy> at the Hangaram Art Museum in Seoul Arts Center on November 7. Flowers, wind, flowing water, rocks, mountains and trees are common objects appearing in works of Baek.
Her series works <Waiting of Taoist Fairy>, <Story of Flowers> and <Whispers of Ivy> represent well of her art world. One might feel a touch of smoothness yet a sense of delicateness expressed in a unique way in her works. She is a master of catching the moment’s vitality and of adding her own vision and artistic taste to the scenes.
“I always try to express vitality and inner truth of things I want to paint. To do this, I emphasize a sense of beauty that comes intuitively” says Baek.
Baek received the grand prize at the Grand Art Exhibition of Korea and has held and joined in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Currently, she is serving as steering committee head and head of judge in various art contests.
