Almaloco wows visitors with other-worldly feast of light

Hosted by Sokcho City and organized by Almaloco, the 2019 Cheongcho Hwanhee Festival was held from 3rd to 6th October at Cheongcho Lake Park. Famous for the festival of light, the content creation company Almaloco wowed visitors with creative arrangement of light.

Colorful feast of light

Many and many colors of light shined the Cheongcho Lake Park surroundings with the city land mark Expo Tower as the center of the attention. Like the title ‘the festival of light’, visitors were wowed by not only standing or seating to watch the light but also walking the Laser Tunnel (light and sound), the Trees of Light (interactive coloring) and the Media Wall (balls of bursting light).

In addition, the LED installations and mysterious photo zones enlivened visitors even more during the 3 day festival. The Laser Tunnel in particular was an exceptional fun as those who could not avoid laser got a funny sound from the installation. Positive reviews and comments were poured in online after the festival leaving a sigh for already finished festival but an expectation for the next one.

For many family visitors, the missing child alarming bracelet was among the hottest issues. “Many parents missed their children at the festival last year. So we brought up the missing child alarming bracelet this year with clearly visible spots forthe lost children” says an official of Almaloco. “The city is determined to grow this festival of light as an all-in-one art and cultural festival in the coming years. I hope the festival next year will draw more people than this year”says an official of the city.

New tech and convergence for contents creation

“More and more ICT-driven technologies are used in content creation. So I and my team will make most of these cutting edge technologies for a variety of exhibition ideas such as interactive products, digital performance and projection mappings that also embrace analogue elements” says Hoyeol Park, CEO of Almaloco.

With series of success in the 2019 Cheongcho Hwanhee Festival and years of knowledge, knowhow and confidence in contents creation, Almaloco targets to bring a new converged form of exhibitions that can melt elements of culture, art, technology and business within.

Almaloco received the Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister’s prize at the Fourth Industrial Revolution Power Korea 2019 and won the Chosun Ilbo 2019 Best Management Award in the category of customer-centered management.
