Anyang University has earned 'autonomous betterment university' at the 2018 University Basic Performance Appraisal carried out by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Educational Development Institute, announced on 23 last month. It means that the university has secured a financial support from the government for the next 3 years and can apply for state-run projects, scholarship and student loan.

The appraisal looks into the university's performance, plan, infrastructure, integrity, curriculum and student support to draw final score. The appraisal this time passed 120 universities (64%) as autonomous betterment universities and 67 as performance strength universities and/or financial support universities.

Anyang University showed a great improvement that meets the age of the impending 4th Industrial Revolution under its self-directed development model slogan 'Life Planning University, Life DESIGN'.

The chancellor Yu Suk-sung said "Professors, students and staff all worked together in one mind to have achieved this great result. We will keep working hard to grow the university to a strong, creative and future-oriented university through fostering talents who will contribute to world peace and to the peaceful unification of two Koreas."

Anyang University celebrates its 70th birthday this year and is growing to be one of the top universities in Korea. To celebrate the anniversary and to encourage their achievement, the chancellor Yu held the 11th Anyang University Tennis Tournament on September 9 at Tennis Court in Anyang Stadium.

You can take part in the tournament as long as you have been a resident for more than 3 months and belong to a local tennis club; you must be 20 years old or more.
