The Korean dine-out industry has long been saturated. Yet many people jump into the field in desperation or in challenge. Some of them launch their own brand and some other ride the wagon of franchise. Whichever one they choose, the profit will decide success or failure at the end of the day.

If you are one of the people above, pay attention to Akiba Tonkatsu With Curry. First opened in Daegu Metropolitan City, CEO Bae is rapidly growing the business nationwide. Within 3 months of opening the first branch, Bae put the business on a train of explosion and was instantly invited to SBC SNBC’s famous biz show ‘Success Standard: Master’.

What makes you “wow” at Akiba Tonkatsu is that a cream curry and sauce come with a donkatsu dish without additional charge. “Tonkatsu is one of the commonest dishes in Korea so it must have uniqueness to be the selling point. Apart from tonkatsu and curry, you can also enjoy hangover soup and spicy beef soup at Akiba Tonkatsu” says Bae.

Meanwhile, Bae signed MOUs with Dun K To S, Big Ant PIS, and Smith Marketing Group, more specifically with the marketing head Shing Yong-ho aka the god of marketing who has promoted 70 franchises. Taking the momentum, Bae is ambitious to launch Akiba Tteok-bokki late this year.

His years of passion in dine out industry recently has been resulted in winning the 2018 Future Management Awards in the category of the promising franchise. Hosted by the Herald Group (Herald Business and Korean Herald) and managed by monthly <Power Korea>, the awards find and reward competitive and promising companies, brands, organizations and individuals in an effort to establish better consumer recognition on products and services.

“It is my belief that the store owners must harvest most of the profits. I know this very well as I’ve seen and experienced the habitual unfair trading practice in the industry for many years. I think a business cannot last long without the win-win policy and management.”
