¡ã Artist Park Jung-hae

Artist Park is famous for her beautiful landscape paintings. She pours her love, passion and whole heart into every single one of her works.

She grew up in Seoul but moved to a rural area where there were mountains, valleys and the sea after she married. Having spent a considerable amount of time in eco-friendly environment, she came back to Seoul to permanently settle down.

But she melted her experience in rural areas into her works very nicely by making the most of her memories of picking up azalea, bracken and acorns. You cannot help feeling a strong attachment to her works which will lead you to the landscapes you have once seen or grown up around. "I still travel every now and then for a sketch or a photo to give a realistic feel" says Park.

Some of her renowned works to name are <Whispers of Nature>, <Haven of Light>, <Breath of Koreans>, <Smile of Autumn> and <Breathing of Valley>. You can see familiar scenes of our daily life in the rural and its surrounding landscapes in these works.

Park's use of the color especially is the appreciating point as some people often praise it "It's different!" Indeed, it is impressive, warming and memory-calling. "The color I use and express came from my memory in that rural period. I was so happy in nature and I tried to shift those beautiful and impressive colors onto my canvas."

Having taken up the brush for the last 20 years, it was natural for Park to be a member of the Dongdaemun Art Association, of the Korea Professional Artists Association, of the Ilwonhoe, of the Creative Art Association, and of the Yaehyunghoe.

It is worth mentioning An Ho-bum, Park's childhood art teacher. He was the one whom Park started to grow interest in art from and the friendship between them is still ongoing. An says "Park's works are bright, splendid, fresh, lyrical and harmonious. They can compare with a well-played orchestra."

Park says "I'm much flattered. But I must say this feeling that whenever I sit in front of the canvas and the paints a strong power is starting to form and driving me away."
