Introducing king oyster mushroom
Nobody would object the fact that edible mushrooms are good for our body. How many people then might know that they are also good for diet? Mushrooms are consisted of 80 to 90% of water and they are known to be high protein and low calorie foods. They are rich in minerals and protein and for this reason they are called as ‘vegetable steak’ in the western world. Among these edible mushrooms, king oyster mushroom is far ahead in containing vitamin B6 and also vitamin C which is 7 times more than oyster mushroom and 10 times than winter mushroom. King oyster mushroom is known to slow aging, recover fatigue and reduce cholesterol. 

Eco-friendly cultivation
Kim Ik-dong, CEO of Namgyeong Organic Farm, was born and bred in Hadong County. He graduated from Gyeongsang National University and worked as a salesman out of the county. He went back to his hometown 15 years ago and started to grow mushrooms from 2002 by making most of his major in agricultural chemistry. Having built his confidence, he established Namgyeong Organic Farm in 2015. “Mushrooms are living organisms somewhere between plants and animals. In other words, you must know very well about fungi, cultivation technique and facilities” says Kim. Namgyeong Organic Farm has all three of these must-needed elements with cutting edge automated systems. For this reason, Kim is confident to say that king oyster mushrooms of Namgyeong Organic Farm are the best in terms of quality and taste. As if to prove it, Kim obtained an agricultural pesticides-free certificate, GAP (Good Agricultural Practice), quality certification from the Netherlands, organic certification from the US, and Canada export certification.

   
 

Korean king oyster mushroom goes global
Namgyeong Organic Farm grows king oyster mushrooms on a 66,000 square meter land. The steam system on the west side kills any harmful germs in the bottles filled with sawdust and grain husks; and the process goes through vaccination, 35 days in the incubation room, 20 days of growing and cooling rooms and storages. Thanks to this automated system, king oyster mushrooms of Namgyeong Organic Farm have sturdy fleshiness and even shapes. You can buy them at Homplus, Lotte Mart and Sikjajae Mart. They are also being exported to Europe, Canada, Indonesia and Vietnam. Currently, Kim is working day and night for pioneering the markets in the US and South East Asia.
