라파우 밀차르스키 LOT 폴란드 항공 대표 “평창동계올림픽 위해 운항 증편할 계획”
작년 10월 인천-바르샤바 직항노선 운항을 시작한 LOT 폴란드 항공은 지난달 10월19일 서울 플라자 호텔에서 ‘인천-바르샤바’ 취항 1주년 기념 기자 간담회를 개최했다. 지난 1년간의 성과를 돌아보고 향후 계획 발표를 위해 마련된 이번 간담회에는 라파우 밀차르스키 LOT 폴란드 항공 대표, 마렉 마기에롭스키 폴란드 외교부 차관을 비롯한 관련인사들이 참여했다. 마렉 마기에롭스키 외교부 차관은 “폴란드는 한국이 중동부유럽 국가 중 가장 많은 투자를 하고 있는 나라” 라며 “인천-바르샤바 직항노선이 양국의 무역과 교류를 계속 증가시킬 것” 이라고 말했다. 이어 라파우 밀차르스키 대표는 “2017년 10월 기준, 지난 12개월간 6만7천명 이상의 탑승객이 인천-바르샤바 노선에 탑승했으며, 월평균 83%의 탑승률을 기록했다” 며 “주 3회로 시작된 운항이 6개월뒤 5회로 늘었으며, 내년 2월에 열리는 ‘평창동계올림픽’을 위해 운항 편을 한시적으로 주7회로 확대할 계획” 이라고 밝혔다. 폴란드 항공은 바르샤바를 경유하는 약 60개의 노선을 운항하고 있으며, 연간 약 500만명의 탑승객이 이용하고 있다. 모든 장거리 노선에 최첨단 항공기인 B787 드림라이너를 자랑하며 특히, 한국인승객을 위해 한식기내식 제공 및 한국어 가능 승무원을 탑승시켜 한국인 맞춤 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 밀차르스키 대표는 “한국에 올 때 마다 친근감을 느낀다” 며 “LOT 폴란드 항공은 합리적인 가격으로 탑승객들을 폴란드와 유럽 그리고 아시아의 아름다운 도시와 장소들로 안내할 것” 이라고 강조했다. 한편, LOT 폴란드 항공은 한국 청년 외교단을 바르샤바로 초청, 잠코비 광장에서 2018 평창동계올림픽 홍보를 위한 플래시몹, 한글 캘리그라피, 한글 타투 스티커 붙이기 등 다양한 프로그램을 진행한 바 있다.

Rafal Milczarski, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, said that he would increase the number of direct flights to Incheon from Warsaw for PyeongChang 2018, at the press conference held at The Seoul Plaza on October 19, 2017. This is an average 83% monthly boarding rate. We started by 3 times a week but increased to 5 times after six months and are now planning to increase the frequencies temporarily to 7 for The PyeongChang 2018.” LOT Polish Airlines is running 60 routes from and to Warsaw to carry yearly 5 million passengers with B787 Dreamliner on all long-haul routes. Also for Korean passengers, LOT Polish Airlines provides Korean inflight meals and customized services by the Korean spoken crew members. Milczarski said “I feel a sense of intimacy whenever I visit Korea. LOT Polish Airlines will carry its passengers to beautiful cities and places in Poland, Europe and Asia at a rational price.” Meanwhile, LOT Polish Airlines invited the Korea Youth Diplomatic Corps to Warsaw and organized flashmob and Korean calligraphy and tattoo events at Castle Square for The PyeongChange 2018.
