Initiating Korea’s sunlight power generation solutions
The Moon Administration’s plan to increase renewable energy ratio to 20% by 2030 is igniting the importance of new energy resources and systems. This is coincided with global trend of the de-nuclear power plants. And among many alternative energy sources, sunlight power generation seems to rise as the most promising because it is eco-friendly and limitless and has a great growth potential. However, it requires high initial investment costs and large areas to build the facilities. It also has limitations in terms of generation efficiency and steady flow of supply. 

In this respect, it is but a good news that a Korean sunlight power generation solutions company Sunsoftware is introducing innovative solutions since its establishment in 2014. First of all, the company released ‘SUN CAE (Computer Aided Engineering)’ for the first time in Korea in 2015. The system automatically calculates for 2D/3 designs, costs and standards and expected amount of yearly generation when the user inserts the data of inverter, module, support fixture, location and setting angle. The greatest feature of the system is that you do not need to be an expert to run the system as it does the work automatically.

As the follow-up, Sunsoftware introduced ‘SUN SP (Solar Planner)’ the next year to respond to the market demand for MW generation capacity and it improved precision on installation capacity. You can check the product, installation requirement and regional distance on its CAD and JPG plans. 

CEO Lee Ji-sun of Sunsoftware explains “Sunlight power generation is a promising future energy industry as it can semi-permanently generate the energy depending on maintenance and module replacement. But it was rather disfavored in Korea due to the inappropriate installation and the inaccurate calculation of the expected amount of energy: ‘installation capacity x 3.6 hours’ which neglected the analysis on shading and precise data and it has brought discrepancy to net profits as a result.”
 
“For this, instead of using the existing NASA meteorological data, Sunsoftware is applying the precise local data used by the Korea Institute of Energy Research in order to bring optimum solutions under the Korean weather and environment. Sunsoftware also has maximized efficiency in time and economy.” 

Sunsoftware leads Korea’s sunlight power generation industry
Taking the momentum of innovative SUN CAE and SUN SP, Sunsoftware is planning to release ‘SUN PRO’, melted with the essence of the previous two versions, in September this year while pushing forward ‘ESS’, a solar energy storage solution. 

“Korea, in fact, has been a wasteland in the field of sunlight power generation. Although the related hardware technologies have reached to a considerable level thanks to the government policy and support, the software part and manpower are still in the initial stage.”

It means that one must take into consideration the optimum efficiency and effective maintenance as well as the date about solar radiation, wind, temperature and angles when designing sunlight power generation facilities. And CEO Lees says that the solutions of Sunsoftware will respond to these issues effectively. 

Lee also plans to introduce ‘sunlight power generation platform’ this October so that both specialists and users can share related information such as government policy and products each other. 

Meanwhile, Lee showed her ambition to foster talented industry specialists and to give consulting to SMEs alongside the business analysis provided for private and cooperative clients. 

Sunlight power generation is a must needed field for sustainable growth of civilization and for passing down clean environment to the coming generations. And it no doubt seems that Sunsoftware will take a great part in the course of advancement of the industry.
