DK-LOK started its fittings and valves business in the name of 'Daegwang Nipple Sangsa' in January 1986. It had only 3 staff around then but grew to be listed in the KOSDAQ in 2010. It was chosen as a promising global company in 2013 as well as a company of 2015 World Class 300 in addition to achieving $1m export in 2002 and $30m soon after. As a result, DK-LOK steadily makes \60b yearly sales. "My father passed away when I was a boy. I chose to work in the field instead of going to a middle school but I felt happy anyway that I had something to do. Then a cousin of mine encouraged me to study at night while working during the day in Busan" said CEO Noh Eun-sik of DK-LOK in retrospect and continued "I started to work for my older brother's company which made bolts and nipples after discharged from the military service and it lasted for 17 years. I learned a lot about bolts and nipples and I actually mastered the field." At the age of 30, he opened his own business 'Daegwang Nipple Sangsa (changed the name to the current name in 2010)' to make simpler and cheaper fittings and valves instead of bolts and nipples. He, with his 5 staff, worked 20 hours a day for the first one year under the principle 'pay what we borrow and receive what we lend on time'. The name of the small company soon spread within the industry as a highly trustworthy as a result. 

Growing to be the No.1 fittings and valves company in the world 
Fittings and valves are must needed parts for the flow of fluid and gas especially in the fields of oils, petrochemical, ship building and power plants. They change the direction of crude oil or water in the pipe to ‘¤¡’ or '¤¤‘ shapes. The fittings connect the pipes in parallel or vertical and the valves adjust the flow of fluid like change of direction, prevention of flowing backward and protection of high pressure. 70% of the revenue of DK-LOK is made at the fittings and the rest 30% at the valves. DK-LOK's continuous investment in R&D was resulted in obtaining 50 kinds of certificates from the US, the UK, Germany and Japan among which the N, NPT, NS STAMP certificate of the US ASME for the first time in Korea and the second in the world. DK-LOK is supplying the fittings and valves to 300 companies of various fields in Korea and to 54 countries in the world including the US and Germany through its 90 local branches. 

High employee satisfaction leads to a steady growth of business
DK-LOK invests \2b a year in facility improvement and self-development programs for employees. "Continuous investment in R&D and staff welfare is very important for a manufacturing company to grow because a company cannot be run by the CEO itself but cooperation with the people who are involved in the business. Setting up a mutual goal and work hard in cooperation directly lead to a steady growth of the business and its competitiveness. That's why we pour more than \100,000 every year to staff training alone." It is remarkable that Noh pushed his academic zeal as far as graduate school and knows very well how important the training is. All employees with university student are supported of \4m scholarship and the all the tuition fee if the employee itself wish to study at university. They are also supported of \1m childbirth grant but \3m when the third child was born in addition to compensations for various family events good or bad. 

Backing up Golden Route Industrial Complex
DK-LOK moved its base to the Golden Route Industrial Complex in Gimhae in 2014. October last year, CEO Noh was elected as the 3rd chairman of the Employer's Federation of the Golden Route Industrial Complex. "Cooperation between the in-house companies is very important and I will focus on activating exchange of information and communication alongside the three core projects of the year: improvement of working environment, building a flower road alongside the central road and organizing lectures by inviting renowned regional figures." 88 small but strong in-house companies are registered to the complex at the moment. 
Noblesse obligeMaking a contribution to society is one of the top priorities of Noh. On the occasion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of DK-LOK in 2014, CEO Noh in cooperation with Um Hong Gil Human Foundation built the 8th human school under the name of DK-LOK in the Gori areas of Nepal with continuous support of the operating fund. "It is meaningless when we built a school and left it without care but a continuous support must be followed to fulfill one's good will. We will keep doing this good deed as long as we last." The school can accommodate 420 students from elementary to high school and it currently is run by the Nepalese government as DK-LOK donated the school to it.
