According to a data, 21 million cars are currently registered in Korea. In the age of ‘1 car per 1 household’, car makers are constantly releasing new models with better performance and functions to meet the high demand of potential car buyers. On 15 last month, ‘2016 Chevrolet Best Seller Awards’ was held at a hotel near Nam Mountain, Seoul with attendees of CEO James Kim of GM Korea, the vice president of Sales and A/S Marketing Dale Sullivan, and executives and staff members as well as car masters. 89 car managers received a prize but the biggest applause went to the winner seller Yang Seung-ho, Section Chief of Chevrolet Northern Incheon. Since he started his career as a car seller in his late 20s in 2008, he has always kept himself among the top places in sales. Last year, he sold a total of 402 Chevrolet which is far above the average sales in the field with added credit on the fact that they were all private cars as Chevrolet has no commercial models in Korea. Yang said “Spark, Malibu and Trax were such a hit last year. But I think it more attributes to the consumers recognition in the level of safety on all Chevrolet models.” Safety of Chevrolet is globally recognized. In 2014 at IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety)’s Crash Testing & Highway Safety, Chevrolet received the best grade and was appointed as ‘2014 Top Safety Pick’. Yang said “You can see many models that boast splendid design and various convenience options to attract your eye but the most important elements of a car are ‘driving’ and ‘safety’. Satisfying these two elements, Chevrolet currently is keeping its No.3 market share in Korea while keeping the best seller status in the world.”

The best car master you can meet!
A buzz started to spread when Yang, in 2011, listed his name in those who make 6 figures. But the glory was not easily given to him but on condition of his hard work, passion and pride in his job. “I woke up early in the morning to distribute handbills while keeping my eye on my smart phone messenger almost 24 hours to promptly respond to my clients. And I’m still ready to do what I have done for many years” said the winner seller. He continued “A car master is a very attractive profession for he/she can earn as much money as they can pour their effort. The important thing is that they need to keep diligent to promptly respond to their clients even after the sales as they get discredited otherwise. This means for me that the job of a car master actually starts from the moment they sell a car.” To further enhance his professionalism as a car master, he updates his knowledge on newly released devices such as black box and navigator on a regular basis. Yang said “I want to show my deep gratitude to the director of Chevrolet Northern Incheon who first recognized my talent and gave unsparing support as well as my parents, clients and my wife. I have spurred myself hard from the moment when I first sold a car to be the No.1 in the region and to be the No.1 nationwide.
