Hanmir (CEO Han Seung-woo)
Eco-friendly new material 'Silmagel' secures core nanotechnology

Versatile Silmagel creates added value and saves energyThe development of new materials for chemical engineering industry starts at strengthening advantages and reducing weaknesses. Polystyrene, for example, is good for insulation and sound-proof but weak for fire while steel has excellent durability but needs to be painted for water-proof. Hanmir's development of Silmagel strengthened both of these advantages while reducing the weaknesses. It is an eco-friendly new coating material applied with nano porous technology. It is harmless to humans and users can adjust colors and thickness. CEO Han Seung-woo of Hanmir worked in the fields of manufacturing, heavy industry and trade before engaging himself in insulation and coating technology since he made acquaintance with Korean-Russian scientists. After years of researches and trials, Han developed Silmagel through chemical combination of water soluble minerals such as natural silicate, carbonate and sodium silicate with other additives. Not only is Silmage a new material with excellent heat-resistant and insulation but also it increases energy efficiency and creates added value in the industry. Han turned his trade company to manufacturing in 2009 and opened an affiliated research center. The company obtained a venture enterprise certificate and some patents for its unique technologies while actively carrying out some of the government projects.

Core technology that can satisfy energy standard
After successful development Silmagel, Hanmir continued its innovative development of Simagel glue which endures the temperature of 1,000¡É, harmless special ceramic heat-resistant and insulation coating paint, antifouling coating material, and energy emitting and heat-resistant coating material which increased energy efficiency by 30~80% when used under 200¡É. Other developments include harmless Simlagel heat-resistant and sound-proof insulation board which is lighter than concrete or stone, and thermal barrier coating material for window glass which makes the room cooler in summer and warmer in winter, and Simagel nonflammable filler material with excellent insulation, heat-resistant and sound-proof which is highly expected to reduce construction cost, and heat adhesive for either 600¡É or 1,000¡É with maximized thermal conductivity and insulation. All of these innovative coating materials can be effectively used for industries relating to LED heatsinks, electronic goods, heating and insulation.

Eco-friendly materials creates a better future
The Han's development drive actually has been a preparation to satisfy the government's 2017 Insulation Passive House Ordinance and 2025 Energy Zero House Ordinance. And Han is confident that Silmagel will best suit the standard as a luxury insulation material. Han points out coal and fuel-driven new regeneration energy and heat control technology as the two core fields that will lead the energy industry in the future. This was the reason that Han developed the high temperature energy coating system which has improved the drawbacks of the existing inefficient materials. According to Han, energy coating materials have been developed much to be effectively used in various industries including aviation, automobile and construction as well as window glass that can blocks UV and infrared rays. He also said that ceramic coating could even create added value by emitting anion and far-infrared radiation and it could contribute to protecting cultural assets or cars and even mobile phones from unexpected fire or ignition, the advantage which attracts eyes of major companies such as Hyundai Motor, Samsung and POSCO. The parts industry is called 'rear industry' as opposed to 'front industry' like automobile, construction and civil engineering. Han predicts that using eco-friendly materials in the rear industry will take the center stage of the global rear industry market in a long-term perspective and Hanmir's innovative development of Simlagel products will play an important role in the field. With this innovation and confident as a spring board, Han is determined to grow Hanmir as an eco-friendly global company. <Power Korea> sends a message of support.
