KOTRA promotes K-Contents PPK and Art Collaboration
K-Contents PPL (Product Placement)

Products of Korean SMEs are to be appeared on 16 K-Contents dramas and shows released this year. KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held the 1st ‘K-Contents PPL Matching Fair’ for SMEs wishing to go overseas market on 16 last month at the KOTRA building in Seocho District, Seoul. 16 potential dramas and shows chosen by producers of current hit TV programs were invited to the fair and the 57 participant SMEs including OKF (aloe drinks), Monaliza Cosmetics (hair products) and Happy Bridge (franchise) were actively engaged in business briefings. Most of the chosen dramas packaged with hot actors and producers have already drawn contracts from companies in China and South East Asia. KOTRA has promoted SMEs to engage in K-Drama PPL in cooperation with the Small & Medium Business Corporation and Government 3.0. The matched products will be supported with a 50% PPL cost from the corporation with additional on/off line commercials in shopping malls as well as export marketing support. Art Collaboration business briefing
KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held a business briefing session for the companies applied for ‘2017 Art Collaboration Overseas Marketing’ on 15 last month at the KOTRA building. Art Collaboration is a project to invite companies and artists into development, productions, packaging, marketing and sales of products in order to create added value. Cocacola, Absolut Vodka, Loui Vuitton, Nike, Samsonite, Mercedes Benz and BMW are good examples which used art collaboration in a way to give storytelling and differentiation of the products to consumers. Noticing the interest but lack of knowhow of Korean SMEs in art collaboration, KOTRA started to promote the premium image of high added value of export promising SMEs from 2015 through art collaboration consulting and projects. As a result, 75 SMEs created about 130 art-collaborated products in cooperation with artists and have participated in 9 global expos in 6 nations.
