Jeonbuk where culture and tourism start
Noth Jeolla Province suggested 'Korea's Frontier of Culture and Tourism' as the vision of 'Total Tourism', the province top agenda of 2017. The vision is to introduce an integrated tour pass, activation of culture and art and sports in life, globalization of local cultural heritages, holding international festivals and securing infrastructure for total tourism, totaling 11 strategic plans and 34 implementation projects. The province is linking the integrated tour pass with Jeonbuk Visit Year 2017 in a way of promoting its brand images and tourism competitiveness with the goal of inviting 35 million tourists home and abroad within the year. The pass covers 13 cities and counties in the province and it is the first of its kind among local governments.

Jeonbuk achieves 1st grade in
corruption prevention measures for 2 years in a row

Jeonbuk received the 1st grade in corruption prevention measures from Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission for 2 years in a row. The commission screened 266 public organizations for a year based on corruption plans, implementations, results and promotion. The province checked 40 categories of 6 fields through documents, surveys and field interviews and gave points on the rate of satisfaction, kindness and corruption case based on its 'Integrity Happy Call' system and asked low performed departments an improvement. The commission held 15 times of meetings especially for the construction sector in order to listen and reflect their opinions and order improvement measures. The province also introduced 'integrity mileage system' to give incentive to the staff with activities relating to anti-corruption while encouraging them by holding 'anti-corruption concert'. The provincial inspector Park Yong-jun said "The reason we achieved the 1st grade in corruption prevention measures for 2 years in a row is because we all worked together with our firm determination. We will keep maintaining our integrity and introducing more effective programs so that we can serve better of our residents."
