늘어만 가는 층간 소음 갈등 ‘레오젠’으로 스마트하게 해결하자!

서울시의 ‘공동주택 층간소음 민원제기 현황’ 자료에 따르면 최근 3년간 민원 접수 건수는 전년대비 60%이상 꾸준히 증가해 왔고, 사례별로는 아이가 뛰는 등 발걸음 소리로 인한 층간소음이 전체 민원에 72%를 차지한 것으로 나타났다. 아파트 등 공동주택은 날로 늘어만 가고 그로인한 층간소음 인원도 가파르게 증가하고 있지만 지자체들은 분쟁해결을 위한 중재 등 뚜렷한 대책을 내놓고 있지 못한 실정이다. 그러는 사이 층간 소음으로 인한 주민들의 갈등이 폭력이나 살인사건으로 이어졌다는 뉴스가 심심찮게 들려온다. 어쩔 수 없이 소음을 유발하는 쪽도 지속적인 소음에 노출되는 쪽도 고통스럽기만 한 층간소음문제. 벤처기업 데비콘이 스마트한 해결방법을 제시해 비상한 관심을 모으고 있다.  

‘레오젠’ 착용만으로 평균 15db이상의 소음 저감 효과
혁신적인 기술개발로 다수의 신발관련 특허를 획득하며 이름을 알려왔던 벤처 기업 데비콘이 층간소음을 줄이는데 효과적인 실내화 ‘레오젠’을 개발하여 화제다. 유성엽 대표는 자신이 직접 층간 소음 문제로 이웃간의 갈등을 경험하게 되면서, 근본적인 해결법에 대해 고민하다 ‘레오젠’을 처음 구상하게 되었다. 그는 “한참 뛰어 놀아야 할 아이들이 가장 편안해야 할 보금자리에서 스트레스를 받는 것이 안타까웠다”며 “신발업계에서 쌓아왔던 노하우를 활용하여 층간 소음을 완화할 수 있는 방법을 찾기 시작했다”고 설명했다. 

층간소음의 가장 큰 빈도수가 맨발로 걷는 소리와 아이들이 뛰는 소리였고, 그 소리는 대부분 발뒤꿈치에서 유발된다는 것을 알게 된 유성엽 대표는 불편한 실내화 대신 발꿈치만을 감싸는 반쪽신발 ‘레오젠’을 개발하기에 이른다. 이후 인제 대학교와 협약을 맺고 공동주택과 유사한 환경에서 테스트하며 ‘레오젠’ 착용만으로 평균 15db이상의 소음 저감 효과가 있음을 확인했다. 유성엽 대표는 “비싼 돈을 들여 바닥공사를 하거나 매트를 구입할 필요가 없다”며 “저렴한 비용으로 이웃간의 갈등을 최소화하고 아이들에게는 자유롭게 뛰어다닐 자유를 줄 수 있기를 기대한다”고 전했다.

소음은 줄이고 착용감은 높인 친환경 반쪽신발
유성엽 대표는 아이들이 몸에 열이 많고, 집에서 신발이나 실내화 착용을 꺼린다는 것을 고려하여 착용시 통기성이 극대화 될 수 있도록 발 앞부분을 완전히 개발하고 발뒷꿈치만 감싸도록 ‘레오젠’을 디자인 했다. 또한 아이들이 보다 쉽게 신고 벗을 수 있도록 밸크로 소재를 선택하였으며, 충격 흡수를 위한 갤 소재는 다수의 숨구멍을 배치해 무게절감과 통기성을 높이도록 했다. 그는 “아이들이 사용하는 제품인 만큼 개발초기부터 제조 공정상 접착 공정이 전혀 없는 친환경 제품만을 고집했다”며 “소비자들이 안심하고 사용할 수 있도록 우수한 국산 자재만을 엄선하고 있다”고 설명했다. 

지난해 11월 첫 선을 보이며 육아맘들 사이에서 선풍적인 인기를 얻었던 ‘레오젠’은 최근 국내 특허 등록을 마치고 현재 국제시장에서의 가능성을 타진하고 있다. ‘층간 소음 저감 효과가 없을 시에는 구매 후 1주일내에 100% 환불’을 약속하며 품질과 기능성에 대해 자신감을 보이고 있는 유성엽 대표는 “향후 뇌손상으로 보행에 불편을 겪는 노인들의 낙상사고 예방을 위한 실내화를 선보일 것”이라며 “앞으로도 끊임없는 기술개발로 더욱 혁신적인 신발 제품을 시장에 공급할 것”을 약속했다.

Yet the government has not brought up an effective measure. <Power Korea> met CEO Sungyup Yu of Debykon and heard how he settled down the conflict. 

Wearing Reozen shoes reduces noise by more than 15db 
Debykon already established a reputation by obtaining numerous patents for its innovative shoes. Recently, the company invented Reozen, the noise-proof shoes and is creating a sensation among apartment residents. “I actually once had a conflict with my neighbor over the noise my children made. I understand the neighbor but my children also have every right to play and move freely at their own home. So I tried to find a way and took the advantage of my knowhow in the shoes making to finally bring up Reozen” explains Yu. Yu came to know that the noise mainly comes the heel of foot. “So I designed Reozen to cover only the heel part and it reduces the noise by more than 15 db according to a test. You don’t need to pay an arm and a leg to hammer up the floor of your whole apartment or to buy mats. Just wear Reozen shoes and you will see the difference instantly and they are far cheaper than the hammering.” 

Noise goes down while comfort goes up
Children tend to hate to wear shoes at home as they generally keep many heats in their body. In this respect, Reozen shoes are ideal as they only cover the heel part. They are also made of velcro which makes wearers easy to put on and off while gel is light and absorbs the shock effectively. “Reozen shoes are made only of eco-friendly Korean materials as children are the ones who wear them.” The shoes created a sensation in the market when they released in last November. CEO Yu already has obtained a patent and is preparing to enter overseas market. Yu is confident that Debykon will refund by 100% within a week after purchase if they are not as effective as mentioned here. Meanwhile, Yu is ambitious to introduce shoes that can prevent elderly people from slipping or falling.
