박근혜 대통령, 삼성바이오로직스 제3공장 기공식 참석
박근혜 대통령이 삼성바이오로직스 제3공장 기공식에 참석했다. 세계 최대 규모의 바이오의약품 생산 공장인 삼성바이오로직스 제3공장이 인천 송도에서 2018년도에 완공될 예정이다. 바이오헬스 산업이 IT를 이어 한국 경제를 이끌 미래 성장 동력으로 급부상하고 있는 가운데 세계 최대 규모의 공장이 완공되면 바이오의약품 제조 강국으로서의 위상을 한층 강화할 것으로 기대가 모아진다.

바이오헬스 산업은 첨단 과학기술의 접목을 통해 새로운 고부가가치 창출과 양질의 일자리를 만들어낼 수 있다는 점에서 창조경제의 핵심이 되는 산업이다. 박근혜 대통령은 우리나라 바이오 의약품 시장규모는 국내 의약품 시장의 11% 수준인 2조 원 규모이지만, 성장잠재력이 매우 높다고 언급했다. 특히 박 대통령은 항체 바이오 시밀러, 유전자치료제, 세포배양백신 같은 첨단 바이오의약품 시장에서 우리의 세계적인 기술력과 경쟁력이 입증되고 있다고 말했다. 최근 정부 R&D 지원을 받은 제약업체는 지속형 인슐린 기술로 세계 4대 제약회사 중 한 곳에 5조 원대의 계약을 체결하고 올 한해에만 8조 원에 달하는 기술 수출 계약을 맺었다.

박 대통령은 기업인들도 신산업 분야에 대한 투자를 확대하면서 고부가가치 산업에 적극 진출해 줄 것을 당부했다. 이어 정부도 국내 바이오의약품 산업 생태계의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 기업, 대학, 연구소 등 산업계 전반에 대한 지원과 소통을 확대해 나가겠다고 밝혔다. 뿐만 아니라 과감한 규제개선과 지속적인 연구개발 지원, 현장에 필요한 인력양성을 통해 바이오의약품 산업을 우리나라의 핵심 산업으로 육성해 나갈 것이라고 강조했다.

박근혜 대통령이 제52회 무역의 날 기념식에 참석했다. 박 대통령은 기념식에서 무역 유공자를 포상하고, 한국 무역의 새로운 도약을 위한 세 가지 방향을 제시했다. 박근혜 대통령은 세계 경제의 저성장 기조, 환율 상승 등 어려운 경제여건 속에서도 우리 무역이 선전할 수 있었던 것은 무역인들의 정성과 노력이 있었기에 가능했다며 격려의 말을 전했다.

박근혜 대통령은 새로운 도약의 기회를 만들기 위해서 한국 무역이 가야 할 세 가지 길에 대해 언급했다. 박 대통령은 수출 영역 및 품목 다변화, 중소·중견기업 수출 역량 강화, 제조업 혁신 3.0 전략에 기반을 둔 주력 산업의 경쟁력 제고 등을 강조했다. 첫 번째로 새로운 수출 지역과 품목을 발굴해 수출을 다변화해야 한다고 강조했다.

또한, 박 대통령은 중국의 내수중심 성장에 맞춰서 식품, 화장품, 보건의료, 문화 콘텐츠를 비롯한 소비재와 서비스 분야 진출도 확대해야 한다고 강조했다. 이를 위해 중국 청도를 거점으로 8개 공동물류센터를 연계 구축하고, 중국 내 주요 지역의 ‘FTA 활용센터’의 역할도 강화할 것이라고 밝혔다.

이어 박 대통령은 파리 기후총회를 통해 에너지 신산업의 성장 가능성을 확인하였고, 아마존의 과일 가공공장에 태양광 설비와 에너지저장장치(ESS) 설치를 통해 기존의 유류발전기를 대체하는 에너지 자립섬 모델은 향후 우리 기업의 해외진출 모범사례가 될 수 있을 것이라고 언급했다.

Park attends groundbreaking ceremony
President Park attended groundbreaking ceremony of the third factory of Samsung Biologics. It is the world's largest bio-medicine factory and is scheduled to complete by 2018 in Songdo, Incheon. Bio health industry is rising as Korea's future growth engine and the factory is expected to contribute to national competitiveness in the field. The industry applies top notch technologies to medicine and it will create a new high value added industry and jobs. Park mentioned that Korea's bio medicine takes up 11% ($1.76B) of the total drug market in Korea but it had a huge potential to grow. She added that Korea is proving world class technologies in the anti-body similar, gene therapeutic agent and cell culture vaccine markets. One of domestic pharmaceutical companies, with the support of the government, signed a $5B worth contract with a global company and has signed another $8B worth export contract this year. Park asked businessmen to expand investment in new industries and the government would provide unsparing support for industry-academic cooperation as well as deregulation and fostering talented manpower. 

Park attends Trade Day ceremony 
President Park attended the 52nd anniversary of Trade Day ceremony. Park awarded prizes to the contributors in trade and encouraged the winners who exerted efforts in the field despite current global economic downturn. Park suggested three directions for Korea's future trade. Firstly, she emphasized on pioneering new export zone and products to diversify export industry. Secondly, she emphasized on exporting food, cosmetics, health and medicine, cultural contents and service industry. For this, the government will build a network of 8 joint distribution centers centered on Cheongdo, China and also will strengthen the roles of FTA exploitation centers in China.  Lastly, she said that the government would build sunlight generation facilities and ESS in fruit factories in the Amazon (building energy independent island) in order for Korean companies to enter the Brazilian market.
