IT기술의 발전은 삶의 편의성을 제공하지만, 한편으로는 정보 보안문제와 같은 부정적인 측면도 동반한다. 최근 발생하는 개인정보 유출, 공공기관 해킹 등의 문제는 커다란 이슈가 되며 불안감을 가중시키고 있다. 이에 보안을 중시하는 공공기관이나 기업 등에서는 주요 문서를 출력물의 형태로 보관하며 해킹이나 USB 등의 이동식디스크에 의한 복제를 방지해왔으나, 이 또한 내부 직원에 의한 유출을 완전히 차단하지는 못하는 한계를 보여 왔다.

 

정보나 기술 등 ‘지적재산’이 가진 가치가 상승하면서 보안은 우리에게 가장 중요한 문제가 되어왔다. 특히 공공기관이나 군부대, 첨단기업 등의 경우 내부정보의 유출이 조직과 사회에 커다란 악영향을 끼칠 수 있다는 점에서 더욱 중시되고 있다. 이러한 내부정보 유출은 대부분 개인의 도덕적 해이나 잘못된 정보 관리 방법에 의해 발생하며, 특히 종이 문서나 전자 문서는 보안에 있어 취약점을 보인다. 중소기업기술정보진흥원의 조사에 따르면 정보유출형태 중 ‘복사, 절취 및 출력물을 통한 내부 정보유출’이 가장 많은 27.5%를 차지했으며, 이러한 인쇄물들은 확인과 결재를 위한 중요 서류에 사용되는 경우가 많아 문제는 더욱 심각하다.

 

블랙썬㈜은 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 오랜 연구 끝에 ‘복사방해 보안용지’와 ‘전자감응 보안용지’, ‘전자감응 솔루션’ 등을 개발, 국내 문서보안 기술의 선진화를 선도하고 있다. 먼저 ‘복사방해 보안용지’는 외견상으론 재질이나 질감이 일반 용지와 똑같이 생겼지만, 이 용지에 프린트된 내용을 복사하게 되면 원본에는 없던 특수한 표시가 발현된다. 이를 통해 원본의 내용 유출을 방해하고, 복사본을 원본으로 위·변조하는 시도를 차단할 수 있다. 특히 이 제품은 복사기뿐만 아니라 스캐너, 팩스, 컬러복사기 등 어떤 형태의 복사나 인쇄 시에도 특수표시가 나타나며, 이 표시는 고객이 원하는 디자인이나 문구, 글씨, 그림 등으로 맞춤형 제작이 가능해 다양한 용도로 활용할 수 있다. 가장 큰 장점은 보안용지의 사용을 위해 기존에 사용하던 인쇄기기 들을 교체할 필요가 없어 매우 경제적이라는 점이다. 블랙썬㈜의 이희부 대표는 “종이문서의 경우 보안용지 사용을 통해 충분히 문서유출을 미연에 방지할 수 있습니다. 저희 제품은 특허청의 기술 특허와 ISO 인증 등을 통해 그 기술력을 인정받았으며, 현재 정부 주요기관 및 정보기관, 군부대, KS인증기관, 반도체기업 등에서 저희 보안용지를 사용하고 있습니다”라고 밝혔다.

 

블랙썬㈜의 보안기술이 응집된 또 하나의 제품은 바로 ‘전자감응 보안용지’이다. 전자감응 보안용지는 특수한 센서물질을 포함시켜 만든 보안용지로, 서류나 제품을 불법으로 유출할 경우 출입구에 설치된 전자감응게이트가 이를 감지하고 경보를 발생시켜 탐지할 수 있도록 만든 제품이다. 이 용지를 통해 인쇄된 출력물은 가방이나 수첩, 호주머니에 숨겨도 탐지가 가능하며, 구기거나 찢어서 모양과 형태를 변형시켜도 탐지할 수 있다. 또한 복사방해 보안용지와 마찬가지로 별도의 인쇄기기 없이 기존에 사용하던 인쇄기기로 사용이 가능하다. 전자감응 보안용지와 함께 사용되는 ‘전자감응게이트’는 스탠드형과 발판형, 휴대용으로 용도에 따라 사용할 수 있도록 제작되었다.

 

더욱 강력한 문서보안을 위한 ‘전자감응 전용 복사기/스캐너’의 경우 전자감응 보안용지 이외의 일반용지를 사용할 경우 경보음이 울리고 작업을 중지시키므로, 부당한 복사나 인쇄를 사전에 차단할 수 있다. 이 대표는 “최근 군부대나 원자력발전소에 시험성적서의 위·변조를 통한 불량제품 납품과 정부기관의 중요정책자료 및 외교문서 유출로 큰 혼란이 일기도 했습니다. 기업의 경우에도 수년간 연구한 중요 기술이 외부로 유출될 경우 회사의 존폐를 위협할 뿐 아니라, 국부 유출로 이어지는 큰 손실을 초래할 수 있습니다”라고 강조했다. 새로운 기술과 제품을 개발하는 것만큼이나 이를 잘 지켜내는 일 또한 중요하다는 것이 이희부 대표의 생각이다.

 

블랙썬(주)에서는 보안용지 및 보안장비 개발사업 외에도 태양광발전사업과 전기, 통신, 소방 공사 사업도 함께 진행하고 있다. 태양광발전 사업 추진을 위한 ‘에너지절감사업자(ESCO) 면허와 전기공사업 면허를 획득한 블랙썬(주)는 관련 분야의 전문 기술자를 확보하여 에너지개발사업을 준비하고 있으며, 태양광발전 식물공장을 통해 가뭄이나 홍수 등의 영향을 받지 않고 식물을 재배할 수 있는 기술도 연구하고 있다. 또한 국방 방산장비에 대한 설치·정비 경험을 바탕으로 방산장비 정비센터를 설립, 국방관련 장비에 대한 정비 업무를 시작할 예정이다.

As the importance of intellectual property is ever increasing, related security measures are highly sought after especially from public institutions, military units and high-tech companies as even one leakage of documents can cause bad effect to society. Leakage of documents in most cases come from the manager’s moral laxity or wrong management system. According to a research from TIPA (Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs), 27.5% of leakage is related to copying, stealing and output of documents that are particularly important for check up and authorization. To prevent the leakage, CEO Lee of Blacksun developed ‘Anti-copy Security Paper’, ‘Electric Sensor Security Paper’ and ‘Electric Sensor Solution’ and is leading the industry. The first one looks same as normal copying paper but special marks appear when copied. This can prevent forging the copied papers as original ones. The paper is compatible with copy machine (both black & colour), scanner and fax and the paper can also be provided with the design, text and picture you want on it by a customized order. But the biggest advantage is that you do not need to change the existing printing machine in order to use the paper. Lee says “With our cutting edge security papers, you can prevent the leakage of your valuable documents. We obtained patents and ISO numbers. The papers are currently used in public institutions, intelligence services, military units, KSA (Korean Standards Association) and semi-conductor manufacturers.” 

 

Blacksun’s ‘Electric Sensor Security Paper’, on the other hand, senses and alarms the documents and products at the entrance or exit when the spy passes the electric sensor gate. Whether the paper is in a deeper side of a bag or box or whether it is crumpled or torn, the paper always senses it. The electric sensor gate can also be installed by customized design such as stand type, foothold type or compatible type. Lastly but not least, ‘Electric Sensor Copying Machine/Scanner’ alarms and stops the operation when normal papers are used. Lee says “The recent leaks of various important documents from military units, nuclear power plants and public institutions caused a chaos in our society. The importance of keeping the valuable documents cannot be emphasized enough.” This means that protecting top documents and products are as important as developing them. Meanwhile, apart from these innovative papers, Blacksun is actively engaged in solar power generator projects, electricity, communication and fire fighting. Blacksun already obtained certificate of ESCO (Energy Service Company) and of electric work and secured industry specialists. Blacksun also is working on technology that can cultivate plants safe from drought or flood by using solar power generator. In addition, Blacksun plans to start maintenance services for defense equipment by establishing a center. Power Korea hopes that Lee and Blacksun will take a great part in contributing to raising Korea’s status as a leading country of technology.
