일류 강사의 실기 위주로 수강생 개개인의 재능을 끌어내는 커리큘럼
MBC아카데미뷰티스쿨 천호캠퍼스는 진로를 찾는 10대부터 창업을 준비하는 50대에 이르는 다양한 수강생들이 최고수준 전문 강사진의 커리큘럼과 철저한 실기 교육을 받아 토탈뷰티 아티스트로 거듭나도록 하고 있다. 김송이 원장은 메이크업 전문강사 및 아티스트가 직접연구 개발한 자사브랜드 르샤 제품과 미국 및 유럽에서 유행하는 아트메이크업용 에어브러시 건을 도입해 최신 트렌드에 맞는 메이크업을 배울 수 있다. 얼굴과 바디 적용분야를 고루 가르치며 수강생 개개인의 재능과 적성을 이끌어내도록 한다. 수요가 많은 웨딩 분야에서는 메이크업뿐 아니라 드레스 코디와 코사지 디자인 같은 전문적인 세부기술도 배운다”고 설명한다. 김 원장은 메이크업 전문가이자 미술가적 안목을 지닌 컬러아티스트의 정체성을 갖는 수강생들을 매년 배출하고 있다. 오픈 이래로 천호캠퍼스는 서울시 교육청 진로체험 학생배움터로 선정되어 대학 진학과 취업을 목적으로 한 수강생들을 관리하고, 상원여중, 마장중, 행당중, 구의중 등 다수 학교에서 직업 체험 특강을 진행해왔다. 또한 강동구 일자리창출사업의 일원으로 메이크업아티스트 양성사업 교육을 진행하며 구청으로부터 감사패를 수상하기도 했다. 천호캠퍼스는 제 8회 메이크업 페스티벌 어워드에서 <특수분장>부문의 대상을 비롯해 참가자 전원이 입상하는 저력을 보여준 바 있다. 그 외에도 <서울패션위크>의 헤어·메이크업을 지원해 눈길을 끌었으며, <살롱 뒤 쇼콜라> 쇼의 헤어·메이크업을 협찬하고 <아시아모델페스티벌>의 바디페인 및 한국에서 개최된 월드미스유니버시티의 메이크업을 담당해 눈도장을 찍었다. 아울러 홍콩 메이크업아티스트를 위한 한류 뷰티 세미나의 교육을 지원하며 수강생들을 토털 뷰티& 토털 아트의 현장을 가까이하면 실습할 수 있게 서포트하고 있다. 

특히 강동구와 진행하는 메이크업아티스트 양성사업은 작년부터 진행하고 있으며, 메이크업과 헤어를 기반으로 한 철저한 커리큘럼으로 여성일자리 확충, 취업에 기여하는 사업으로서 주목을 받기 시작했다. 현재는 1회차 수료자 배출 및 취업에 성공시켰고, 올해 2회차 사업을 시작, 9월 수료 후 현재 취업 준비 중에 있다고 한다. 전문 뷰티 아티스트를 발굴하는 과정에서 여성들을 위한 직업창출은 지역경제 발전에도 유익하기 때문이다. 

“2달 간 진행되는 양성사업 교양과정에서는 수업료와 재료비가 일체 무료다. 이 과정에서 재능을 발견해 더 다듬어 프로 아티스트로 거듭나기도 하고, 트렌드에 맞는 메이크업과 헤어 업스타일을 직접 배워 활용할 수도 있다. 실기 위주의 교육이기에 단기간에 실력을 향상시킬 수 있다”는 김 원장은 이 프로그램으로 더 많은 여성들이 메이크업 아티스트의 세계를 체험하고 입문할 수 있기를 기대한다. “많은 수강생들이 방송, 영화 등에서 유행 트렌드를 선도하며 경쟁력을 인정받고 있다. 그러니 뷰티 분야를 진로로 고려하는 학생들, 재취업을 꿈꾸는 여성들이라면 더 나은 미래를 천호캠퍼스에서 그려나가시기 바란다. 수강생 여러분 모두가 예술적 창의력을 직업으로 표출할 수 있는 뷰티 전문가이자 아티스트로 성장하도록, 천호캠퍼스의 모든 전문 강사들이 충실히 이끌어줄 것이다” 다양한 분야의 현장체험으로 실전에 강한 김 원장은 수강생들이 사회로 진출한 현장에서 창의력과 실력을 겸비한 아티스트로 인정받을 때 보람을 느낀다고 한다. 앞으로도 김 원장은 교육의 내실에 더욱 주력할 것이라는 각오를 밝혔다.

Curriculum that maximizes students’ talent
With top beauty specialists and practical curriculum, MBC Academy Beauty School Cheonho Campus is attracting various people who have passion in the beauty industry. From teens to the 50s, students are trained with the products of house brand ‘Lesha’ and make-up air brush gun widely used in the US and Europe. The curriculum covers the fields of face and body and is designed to find each student’s talent and aptitude. The wedding curriculum in particular provides skills in make-up, dress coordination and corsage design.

Director Kim and her staff have produced many talented beauty and color artists and the Campus was chosen as a student career experience institute by Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. It has provided career experience programs in various schools including Sangwon Girl’s Middle School, Majang Middle School, Haengdang Middle School and Guui Middle School. As part of Gangdong District Office’s Job Creation Project, the campus has carried out Make-up Artist Training and received an appreciation plaque from the office. Also, the campus won the grand prize in the special make-up category at The 3rd Make-up Festival Awards and all the participated students received a prize. The campus took part in hair & make-up at Seoul Fashion Week, sponsored hair & make-up for Salon Du Chocolat and took in charge of body painting at Asia Model Festival and of make-up at World Miss University held in Seoul.

The campus also regularly supports K-Beauty Seminar and Total Beauty & Art for make-up artists from Hong Kong. Director Kim has been carrying out Make-up Artist Training Project in cooperation with Gangdong District since 2014 and has contributed to creating jobs for women and many of the first phase students successfully found a job in the industry. Director Kim said “The 2 Month Training Course is provided free of tuition and material fees. After this course, students can find their aptitude and deepen the related skills. Our practical curriculum is designed to maximize students’ abilities.” Kim added “Many of our students are actively involved in leading the beauty trend especially in broadcasting and films. We highly encourage those who have passion in the beauty industry to make their dream come true with us. Our top beauty specialists will systematically train you to be a talented industry specialist.” Kim said that she feels worth whenever her students make a success in the field and she will provide unsparing effort to support them.
