인덕션언더렌지 ‘미테’로 청정 열효율 조리시대 연다
“세계 최초로 공진형 고주파유도가열기술 결합한 조리기구 출시”

주방조리기기의 패러다임이 가스렌지에서 전기렌지로 바뀌고 있다. 전기계열인 인덕션의 에너지원인 유도가열은 자기장의 파형을 이용해 열을 발생하는 것인데, 이 파형을 더 높이 띄워 자기장의 세기를 조절하는 것이 바로 공진형고주파유도가열 기술이다. 이 기술로 불 없이 조리하는 언더렌지 ‘미테’가 화제다. ㈜아이비피(http://www.언더렌지.com/)의 김강수 대표를 만나 테이블아래에 설치하여 사용하는 스마트한 언더렌지의 제작기술, 기업의 미래상에 대해 들어보았다.

새로운 고주파유도가열 원천기술을 조리기구에 적용해 대박
냄비 주변은 전혀 뜨겁지 않는데 안에 담긴 음식은 가스렌지에 올려 끓이는 음식처럼 뜨겁다. 테이블 위에는 냄비만 놓여 있는 것처럼 보이지만 그 아래에는 냄비 속 음식만을 유도 가열하는 중이다. 이렇듯 신기한 ‘언더렌지’라는 개념을 만들어 낸 ㈜아이비피는 원래 기존의 유도가열방식을 독자적으로 업그레이드한 공진형 고주파유도가열방식으로 보일러를 만드는 기술력을 가진 회사였다. 그러다 2014년 1월 9일 MBC ‘도전 발명왕’에 등장해 큰 호응을 얻었고, 7년간의 연구 끝에 보일러 대신 조리기구에 적용해 제작한 언더렌지는 조리기구업계에서 높은 성장가능성을 보여주고 있다. 불꽃으로 조리하지 않는 전기렌지 중에서 하이라이트는 빛을 열로 만드는 대류열로 내열유리도 데울 수 있으나, 주변도 같이 데워 화상위험이 높으며 열효율이 낮은 단점이 있다.

또한 인덕션은 자기유도 전기장으로 열을 발생시키는 대신 자성이 있는 냄비만을 데울 수 있다. 그래서 김 대표는 유도가열의 최고 효율을 낼 수 있도록, 공진점 높이를 조정한 언더렌지를 개발해 상표등록을 마쳤다. “일반 유도가열에서는 5mm였던 자기장 투과 유격거리가 언더렌지에서는 50mm도 투과된다. 그래서 연소 작용 없이 냄비만을 겨냥해 데울 수 있기에 냄비가 골고루 데워져 음식이 눌어붙지 않으며 하이라이트 전기렌지보다 조리속도를 30% 단축할 수 있다” 언더렌지 ‘미테’는 냄비가 비거나 내부가 과열되면 자동으로 전원이 차단되며 일산화탄소, 유해가스 배출걱정이 없다. 또한 업소용으로 출시되어 국내 및 중국에서 반응이 좋은 언더렌지는 가정용으로도 개발되어 올 10월 출시를 앞두고 있다. 인덕션처럼 안전하고 가스렌지처럼 열효율이 좋은 가정용 언더렌지는 탈착해서 언더, 혹은 포터블용으로 쓸 수 있도록 개발했다. 현재 미국, 중국, 인도네시아 지사 계약을 마쳤고, 장기적으로 볼 때 전기 절감효과가 큰 신기술에 관심을 가진 베트남, 필리핀 등에서 꾸준히 구매요청이 들어오고 있다고 한다.

순수 한국기술만으로 고주파유도가열 전문기업 거듭날 것
“언더렌지는 버튼 식에서 무선리모컨 식으로 업그레이드되어 주방 공간을 편리하고 세련되게 만든다. 한국식 요리에서는 액체가 끓어 넘치면 눌어붙은 음식물을 닦아내는 일이 많기에, 청소가 편리한 언더렌지는 가정과 일손이 늘 부족한 음식점에서 모두 반응이 좋다. 금속을 제외한 모든 재질의 식탁 아래에 레일식으로 장착 가능하고, 전기장으로 열이 발생되는 원리라 자성이 있는 냄비만 사용 가능하다. 국, 찌개, 찜 등을 만들 수 있도록 크기와 모양이 다양한 전용 조리도구로 자체 제작된 자성체 냄비 세트는 언더렌지 뿐 아니라 같은 유도가열 원리인 인덕션에서도 호환된다” 김 대표는 앞으로도 가정과 산업용으로 더 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 제품을 고유 기술로 제작하고자 한다. 안전 뿐 아니라 휴대성이나 탈착식 활용이 가능하도록 디자인하는 이유이기도 하다. 그래서 조만간 가스렌지에 익숙한 국내 소비자들의 조리 습관을 고려해 가정용 3구를 출시할 예정이다. 이런 시도가 가능한 것은 자체연구와 제작이 가능하기 때문이다. K사 등 국내 유명 대기업도 해외에서 인증된 기술을 들여와 제품을 만들고 있는 상황에서 ㈜아이비피는 고주파유도가열의 원천기술을 가진 기업이라는 점도 강점이다. “향후 1-2년간은 언더렌지에 치중하고 싶고, 그 원천기술로 앞으로도 히팅 시스템, 고화력렌지 쪽에서 세계 최초로 기록될 시도를 꾸준히 하고 싶다. 인덕션 보일러는 이미 있는데 인버터가 공진형이 아닌 국내에서는 유도가열 자체를 거의 쓰지 않기에, 계속 연구하여 내년 말쯤 순간온수기와 보일러에 적용할 생각이다” ㈜아이비피는 충남 아산에 공장이 있으며, PPL 광고에 등장할 때마다 문의가 쇄도한다는 언더렌지를 진열할 쇼룸을 갖추고 홈쇼핑과 직영몰 위주로 판매할 것이다. “고주파 유도가열 분야에서 기술 뿐 아니라 디테일에서도 인정받아 국내와 해외 모두 보편화 될 다양한 생활 제품을 만들어 일류 기업으로 인정받을 것”이라는 김 대표는 “사회 환원 면에서는 1대 팔리면 나무를 1그루 심는 기업이 되고 싶다”며 미래 청정에너지산업의 일원으로서 높은 자부심을 보였다. 볶는 요리가 주종인 중국 시장에 이미 2,000여 대를 수출한 ㈜아이비피의 언더렌지가 만들 조리기구 한류의 미래는 앞으로도 청신호일 전망이다.

The mystery part is that we cannot feel the heat around pot but the food in it gets really hot and being cooked. How? It is high-frequency induction heating technology that only heats up the food inside. IBP was a company which originally made boiler with this technology. But after 7 years of research, the company applied its technology to cooking utensils and finally introduced a new conception called ‘underrange’ on a MBC show program called ‘King of Inventors’ broadcast on January 9, 2014. Many electric ranges can heat up even heat-resistant glass with convective heat but it also heats up the surrounding areas and has low thermal efficiency. CEO Kim of IBP improved this drawback by adjusting the level of resonance point and developed underrange. He currently have finished registration of trade mark. Kim said “The existing induction’s average magnetic field penetration distance is 5mm but underrange is 50mm. This means that it can only heat up the food in the pot and reduces the speed of cooking by 30% when compared to highlight electric ranges.” Underrange ‘Mitte’ really is magical as it cuts electricity automatically when the pot is empty or overheated. It also does not produce carbon monoxide and noxious gases. Mitte currently is being provided for business use but is to be released for family use in October this year. Mitte is safe like induction and has high thermal efficiency like gas range and you can stick it to a surface or carry it anywhere. CEO Kim recently has signed a contract with branches in the US, China and Indonesia and also is receiving love calls from Vietnam and the Philippines. 

Being the top high frequency induction heating company with unique technology
CEO Kim said “You can use our underrange with a remote control. You do not need to worry about the food brimming over the pot which makes you difficult to clean as you can easily give a wipe to remove the stains. You can install it under the table (except metal table) but you should only use pots with magnetic properties which we also provide as a package with underrage.” Kim currently is planning to develop more efficient products made with unique technology and sophisticated design. He will soon release 3 new models for family use. This is only possible because IBP is capable of running its own R&D and manufacturing. IBP is really innovative considering the fact that even major companies use foreign technology to make their products. Kim said “We will be focusing on underrage for the next 1 or 2 years and then start to develop heating system and high thermoelectric power range that might surprise the world. We will also apply our technology to instant water heater and boiler by the end of next year.” IBP runs a factory in Asan in South Chungcheong Province and Kim plans to use a showroom, directly managed stores, homeshopping channels and PPL to promote the products. Kim said “We’re going to make global level products with our unique technology and design. But we are also very much interested in social contribution as we are planning to plant a tree whenever a product is sold in the future.” IBP has already exported 2,000 underrage to China and its growth potential is only on the green light.
