A healthy natural energy that cures the ‘disorders of the mind’ for wearied modern people
Practices Buddha’s benevolence relieving numerous people
Rev. Cheonyong at Cheonyong hermitage

Tied up in everyday affairs in great complexity, people are bound to have their mind broken in small and large pieces. Both in personal relations and in themselves, the modern people are tired out and go to pieces all the time. What is more important, however, is the reality of ignoring or turning their backs on such psychological and emotional pain rather than working it out properly. Wounds imbedded with no chance of being exposed outwardly like this ends up with ‘disorders of the mind’ which destroy and devastate our daily life.

Disorders of the mind with unknown cause
Recently, circumstances around us are not that agreeable. While economic slump prolonged endlessly makes our life more difficult to make ends meet, memory of the Sewol Ferry calamity, which took numerous young lives, is still a burden in our hearts and big and small incidents and accidents heard through every kind of media thereafter keep disturbing our mind with doubts about ‘the direction of our living.’

However, most people are negligent in their efforts to cure and relieve the dark part crouching deep in our heart like this. They consider it ‘kind of stress suffered by most of modern people’ commonly known through every kind of media, or sustains the pain all by themselves for fear of the eyes nearby so no one will notice it. But simply enduring it may cause even bigger problems. Rev. Cheonyong said, “The dark part occurring in our mind ends up with a disease if left alone. When disorder occurs in our mind, it is difficult to locate the cause and cure it in ordinary methods.”

Rev. Cheonyong says that every person has his tears in their mind. He insists that all is tears – vindictive wish or pain from wound caused by personal relations, one’s own bigotry or disposition, grudge or hatred against something. He further explained, “Tears are like scraps left by the passed-by feelings. That is, they are things belonging to the past. One should get along brightly thinking of today or tomorrow, but if he isn’t able to proceed being fastened by such past, his mind or soul comes to be bound up there in the subconscious.” The mind bound by the past like this also brings change to the body. This condition develops into what we call a disease caused by pent-up rage or, more seriously, cancer. It is because what governs our body is the soul and the mind.

We need harmony between our mind and natural energy
Rev. Cheonyong is relieving those who are suffering from such disorders of the mind. He understands the condition of their mind deeply because in the past, the priest himself had a suffering as though burning his whole body with a disease of unknown cause. At that time, Rev. Cheonyong visited numerous hospitals because of extreme pain, but he says that he got nowhere. Rather, being sentenced that his days were numbered, he soon came to enter a small temple left alone in the deep mountains. In an extreme pain that fainted him several times a day, he said prayers, ‘Please let me die sooner’ for many days until at last he heard a revelation while half asleep, ‘You are not going to die. So go save the people.’ Rev. Cheonyong, who had completely recovered with his usual pain gone, has been living so far considering it his mission to cure sick people for unknown reason just as he had experienced himself.

Rev. Cheonyong’s abode of Cheonyong hermitage, located at Yangnam-myeon, Gyungjoo city, is visited by innumerable people even in a day. They are those who are suffering from disorders of the mind, such as possession or mental disorder caused by possession, depression, tic disorder, epilepsy, etc. whose cause cannot be identified and which cannot be completely cured even with modern medicine. Rev, Cheonyong said, “When disorders of the mind deepen, it brings on a dark and weak part deep in the mind. Weakened mind is likely to let in bad energies wandering around the world.” Rev. Cheonyong says that it is needed to admit natural energy to straighten a confused mind losing the natural harmony. The world we live in always keeps a wonderful harmony. But he says that the recent reckless damage to nature is weakening natural energy and rapidly increasing the number of those who have suddenly come down with diseases with unknown cause. This is not the case of our country alone but the same goes for overseas. The phenomena of depression, tic, epilepsy, possession and mental disorder caused by possession are increasing gradually on a global scale and, despite the advanced medical technique used for solution, the exact therapeutic method is still unknown except medication at the level of modifying the symptom.

On the other hand, treatment by Rev. Cheonyong, who is considered to have a high level of keen insight, starts by digging into the fundamental cause of disease. It cures by pulling out the darkness of a monster serpent, evil spirit, demon, etc., which has possessed our mind in a deep place, exchanges the center of dithering mind for the strong and pure natural energy and erects it back straight. Besides, he is helping the cured people to manage a proper life with the right soul and mind getting released from pain. A person who introduced himself as visiting the priest for gratitude whenever he had time after his disease was cured by Rev. Cheonyong’s treatment said, “Cheonyong hermitage will be the last visiting place for those who have the same disease as me. “He means that disease not cured by visiting so many hospitals can be cured at Cheonyong hermitage and that there is no reason to visit another place. People who visit Cheonyong hermitage from around the country are annually increasing in number after hearing the word-of-mouth from those who had their disease cured in person and there are frequently inquiring phones even from overseas, too.

Rev. Cheonyong emphasizes, “For diseases, prevention is better than cure.” He said that we should straighten our mind and figure out how to live honestly and cleanly. He advised harmony by forgiving and consideration rather than fighting with one another, belief and a positive mind rather than a suspicious mind. He also asked not to throw desire away but to refrain from excessive desire. While Rev. Cheonyong is opening the closed mind of people and saving them from pain by practicing benevolence, it seems that a strong, clean and pure aroma rises from his fingertips.
