삼성전자, 스마트 TV 부가정보 서비스 출시
삼성전자는 지난 달 19일, 야구·뉴스·연예·소셜 4가지 분야의 정보를 삼성 스마트 TV로 실시간 제공하는 '부가정보’ 서비스를 출시했다고 밝혔다. 이번 서비스는 삼성 TV 리모콘의 ‘부가정보’ 버튼을 누르면 바로 화면 우측에 반투명 창 형태로 제공되며 랜선이 연결된 2015년 삼성 스마트TV 전 모델에서 지상파는 물론 케이블 TV나 IPTV 시청자까지 사용할 수 있다. 야구의 경우, 경기 시작 전에는 일정과 출전 할 선수들의 시즌 기록이 제공되며 경기 중에는 전 구장의 경기 현황과 타자와 투수의 시즌 성적 등을 10초마다 업데이트해서 보여준다. 기존에는 드라마를 보다가 야구 정보를 보기 위해 스마트 TV기능을 선택할 경우, 화면이 전환되어 드라마 시청이 어려웠으나 이번 서비스로 영상의 흐름을 놓치지 않고 여러 구장의 야구 경기 현황을 간편하게 확인할 수 있어 활용도가 높을 것으로 기대된다. 

뉴스와 연예 영역에서는 인기 뉴스를 실시간으로 선정해 보여주어 TV 시청 중에도 사회 전반 이슈를 확인할 수 있고 소셜 영역에서는 트위터의 인기 멘션을 바로 확인할 수 있다. 삼성전자 VD 사업부 이원진 부사장은 "부가정보 서비스는 정보성 서비스가 TV 시청 경험 안으로 합쳐진 것”이라며 “타이젠을 탑재해 완전히 새로워진 삼성 스마트 TV는 시청자가 원하는 것을 알아서 제공하는 더 똑똑한 스마트 TV로 발전할 것”이라고 말했다. 

삼성 로봇청소기 ‘파워봇’ 신모델 3종 출시
삼성전자가 지난 달 1일 진공흡입 로봇청소기 ‘파워봇’ 신모델 3종을 출시하며 라인업을 확대한다. 삼성 ‘파워봇’은 기존 로봇청소기의 쓸어 담는 방식이 아닌 강력한 디지털 인버터 모터를 탑재해 진공 흡입이 가능하며, 최첨단 센서로 뛰어난 이동성을 갖춰 지난 해 첫 출시 이후 전 세계적인 주목과 호평을 받아오고 있다. 국내외의 높은 호응에 힘입어 새로 선보이게 된 삼성 ‘파워봇’ 신모델은 기능과 컬러는 물론 가격대까지 다양화해 소비자 선택의 폭을 넓혔다. 블랙의 고급스러움이 묻어나는 에보니 쿠퍼 컬러의 삼성 ‘파워봇’ 신모델은 일반 로봇청소기보다 약 140배 강력해진 디지털 인버터 모터를 채용해 강력한 진공 흡입력을 갖췄다. 리모컨에서 나오는 불빛을 따라가면서 필요한 부분만 선택적으로 청소가 가능한 ‘포인트 클리닝’ 기능도 불빛을 인식하는 가능한 거리가 기존보다 약 2배로 확장돼 사용성이 높아졌다. 또한 무선공유기를 통한 Wi-Fi 연결로 집 안에서는 물론 외출 중이거나 해외 여행 중에도 언제 어디서나 스마트폰으로 간편하게 ‘파워봇’의 주요 기능을 조작할 수 있다. 

스타일리시한 팝 레드와 팝 옐로우 컬러의 신모델은 ‘파워봇’의 장점과 핵심 기능은 유지하면서도 가격 부담은 덜었다. 강력한 모터와 삼성 진공청소기의 먼지 분리 기술인 ‘싸이클론 포스’, 넓은 흡입구의 ‘와이드 빅 브러시’가 적용돼 효과적인 청소가 가능하다. 

작은 장애물까지 감지하는 ‘풀뷰 센서’, 실내 구조를 꼼꼼하게 분석하는 ‘네비게이션 카메라’, 문턱 같은 장애물도 쉽게 넘어가는 ‘이지패스 휠’ 등 ‘파워봇’만의 뛰어난 이동성도 그대로 갖췄다. 삼성전자 생활가전사업부 박병대 부사장은 “기존 로봇청소기와는 완전히 다른 강력한 흡입력의 삼성 ‘파워봇’에 대한 소비자들의 뜨거운 호응에 보답하고자 다양한 신제품을 출시하고 선택의 폭을 넓혔다“며, ”앞으로도 소비자 목소리를 적극 반영한 혁신적인 제품을 지속적으로 선보이겠다"고 말했다. 한편 삼성 ‘파워봇’은 최근 호주 소비자 협회 정보지인 '초이스(Choice)’의 로봇청소기 평가에서 1위를 차지했으며, 미국 전자제품 평가 전문 매거진인 ‘리뷰드닷컴’으로부터 10점 만점을 획득하는 등 우수한 성능을 입증 받았다.

Samsung Electronics announced on 19 last month that they released 'additional services' that can provide information in four fields of baseball, news, entertainment and social through their smart TV. Viewers can enjoyed the services by clicking the 'additional information' button of the Samsung remote control and the users of all 2015 Samsung smart TV models on ground-wave broadcasts, cable TV and IPTV can receive the services. Baseball, for example, you can see the schedule of the match and season record of each player before the match and real time update of each match and performance of each player every 10 minutes during the match.

This is because the viewers had to turn the channel to get the real time information they want while watching other program but they no longer need to do that. News and entertainment, on the other hand, you can check top issues on the screen in the real time while watching other program and the social part shows real time mentions from Twitter. Wonjin Lee, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics' VD Business Division said "we combined TV programs with real time information through our 'additional services'. Samsung Smart TV loaded with Tizen will develop further to automatically provide information the viewers want without changing the channels."

Samsung Electronics, releasing 3 new models of 'POWERbot'
Samsung is expanding their line up by releasing  3 new models of robot vacuum cleaners called 'POWERbot' on 1 July. Loaded with a strong inverter motor different from existing one and a high tech sensor with excellent movability, the POWERbot is being praised from the world. The ebony cooper colored POWERbot has a 140 times stronger digital inverter motor than the existing robot vacuum cleaners and absorbs dust more powerfully. Its 'Point Cleaning' function also has a double the distance to recognize the light of the remote control which cleans a specific part of the house. In addition, its wi-fi function enables you to control the cleaner wherever and wherever you are.

The stylish pop red and pop yellow models are offered at a reasonable price while maintaining the advantages of POWERbot. They are loaded with a strong motor, 'Cyclone Force' that separate dust and a wide absorbing mouth of 'Wide Big Brush' which enable users to clean effectively. Other functions include 'Full View Sensor' that senses small obstacles, 'Navigation Camera' that analyse the structure of the floor plan and 'Easy Pass Wheel' that easily crosses over threshold. Byeongdae Park, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics' Household Appliances Business Division said "we introduced POWERbot in order to give more functions and efficiency to our customers. We will keep gathering the demands of customers and reflect them in our new products." Meanwhile, POWERbot ranked NO.1 in the robot cleaner part from an Australian magazine 'Choice' and scored 10 out of 10 from a US magazine 'Reviewed.com'.
