박근혜 대통령, 부르크할터 스위스 외교장관 접견!
박근혜 대통령이 2015 OSCE(유럽안보협력기구)-아시아회의에 참석하기 위해 한국을 방문한 ‘디디에 부르크할터’ 스위스 외교장관(전 대통령)을 접견했다. 박 대통령과 부르크할터 장관은 한-스위스 관계, 한반도ㆍ동북아 정세 및 동북아평화협력구상, OSCE 활동 등 국제이슈에 대해 의견을 교환했다.

박근혜 대통령은 작년 1월 한국 정상으로는 처음으로 스위스를 국빈 방문했었는데, 먼저 박 대통령은 스위스 국빈 방문시 부르크할터 외교장관(당시 스위스 대통령)이 따뜻하게 환대해 준 것에 대해 감사의 뜻을 전했다. 이어 정상회담 합의사항인 직업교육, 과학기술 공동연구, 산업기술 등 협력 사안과 관련해 우리 정부가 3월초부터 국내 9개 고등학교를 대상으로 스위스식 직업교육 과정을 시범운영하는 등 순조롭게 이행되고 있으며 앞으로도 긴밀한 협력이 계속되기를 바란다고 언급했다. 이에 대해 부르크할터 장관은 양국관계가 견실한 토대 하에 포괄적ㆍ미래 지향적인 방향으로 계속 발전하고 있음을 뜻 깊게 생각하며 교육ㆍ과학ㆍ기술 등 양국이 강점을 갖고 있는 분야에서 상호 협력이 더욱 확대될 수 있도록 관심을 기울이겠다고 말했다.

박근혜 대통령은 이번 OSCE-아시아회의를 위해 부르크할터 장관이 OSCE의 아시아 접촉그룹 의장으로서 관심을 갖고 협조해 준 점에 대해 감사의 뜻을 전했다. 이어 동북아평화협력구상을 추진하는데 있어 OSCE 등의 경험을 잘 활용할 수 있도록 한국과 OSCE간 파트너십 강화를 위해 노력을 해달라고 당부했다. 이에 부르크할터 장관은 동북아평화협력구상이 동아시아 역내 긴장완화 및 평화질서의 구축에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 믿으며, OSCE의 신뢰구축 조치 및 안보 협력 관련 경험을 한국과 적극 공유해 나가겠다고 화답했다.

더불어 박 대통령은 스위스가 지난 60여년간 중립국감독위원회의 일원으로 한반도의 평화와 안정에 기여해온 점에 대해 언급하면서 북한의 비핵화 및 인권상황 개선을 위해서도 스위스 정부가 계속 지원해줄 것을 요청했다. 부르크할터 장관은 북한과의 대화 및 대북 인도지원 과정에서 남북한 대화에 응하도록 가능한 설득노력을 해 나갈 것이며 한반도 평화통일을 위한 지지를 아끼지 않을 것이라고 말했다. 박근혜 대통령과 부르크할터 스위스 외교장관과의 접견을 계기로 양국간 협력은 물론 한국과 OSCE간 파트너십도 보다 강화되길 기대한다. 

박근혜 대통령, 한·일 현인(賢人)회의 참석자 접견
박근혜 대통령이 한·일 관계에 오랫동안 관여해온 양국 원로들로 구성된 ‘한·일 현인(賢人)회의’ 참석자들을 접견했다. 한·일 현인(賢人)회의는 국교정상화 50주년을 맞이하여, 한·일 관계 개선을 위한 환경 조성과 함께 양국 관계에 대한 건의서를 마련해 양국 정부에 제출하기 위해 양국 원로들로 구성된 회의체다.

접견장에 들어선 박근혜 대통령은 한·일관계에 각별한 애정과 식견을 갖춘 양국 원로들이 한 자리에 모여 양국관계의 개선을 위해 진정성을 갖고 노력해 주고 있어, 앞으로 양국 관계에 좋은 진전이 있기를 기대했다. 더불어 일본측 참석자들의 그간의 활동에 대한 관심을 표하며 지속적인 역할을 당부했다.

이에 모리 前 총리는 이번 한·일 현인회의를 통해 양국 참석자들이 양국이 보다 우의를 돈독히 하여, 동북아의 평화와 안정을 위해 함께 기여해 나가야 한다는 데에 의견을 같이했다고 밝혔다. 박 대통령은 양국 수교 이래 발전시켜 온 교류와 협력의 역사를 잘 살려가며, 앞으로 보다 안정적인 기반 위에서 양국 관계를 발전시킬 수 있도록 함께 노력해나가야 한다고 강조했다. 더불어 양국이 힘을 합쳐야 할 분야가 많은 만큼 입장 차이는 대화를 통해 해결할 필요가 있으며, 최근 양국 간 외교, 국방, 경제를 비롯한 각 분야에서 다양한 레벨의 대화 노력을 바람직하게 생각한다고 밝혔다.

President Park, received Burkhalter, Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs who visited ROK to participate in 2015 OSCE-Asian Forum and discussed on the issues on Korea-Swiss relationship, Korean Peninsular, East Asia situation, the Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative and activities of OSCE. 

Park visited Swiss last January as the first Korean president and showed her gratitude to Burkhalter (then President of Swiss) who received Park at that time. Park said to Burkhalter that the terms of agreement signed on the summit talk, including Swiss type vocational training, joint R&D for science technology and industrial technology, is being implemented at 9 high schools in Korea since last March. Burkhalter in response said that it is meaningful that the cooperation between the two countries are progressing and he would give more effort to further strengthen the cooperation in the field which two countries have mutual interests. Park showed her gratitude to Burkhalter for his cooperation as Chairperson of 2015 OSCE-Asian Forum and asked him to do his best to strengthen the relationship between ROK and OSCE. Burkhalter in response said that he believes that the Northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation Initiative will ease tension and build peace and order in the region and he will share his and OSCE's know-how with ROK. 

Park also showed her gratitude that Swiss has been contributing to peach and stability in the Korean peninsular for the last 60 years as a member country of NNSC (Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission) and asked a continuous support for denuclearization of North Korea and human rights. Burkhalter in response said that he will exert his effort to persuade the North to be on the table of dialogue and to draw peaceful unification. It is expected that the meeting between Park and Burkhalter will strengthen the partnership between ROK and OSCE. 

Park, receiving participants attended Korea-Japan Wise Man Forum
President Park received the participants who attended Korea-Japan Wise Man Forum which influenced the relationship between the two countries for a long time. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, the forum prepared a petition to be sent to both governments in the hope of improving bilateral relationship. Park said at the forum that she expects a good result with the help of both countries wise men who have been contributing to the field and asked the Japanese participants to keep providing a continuous support.

The former Japanese Prime Minister Mori said that the forum will strengthen the relationship between the two countries and will contribute to peace and stability in North East Asia. Park also said that to keep the trade and cooperation which has been practiced for a long time between ROK and Japan and to work together are very important to improve the bilateral relationship. For this, she added, both countries need to solve the differences through dialogues and to expand the cooperation field in various level covering diplomacy, defence to economy.
