독특한 색감과 질감으로 주목

자연 속에서 나타나는 희망과 즐거움 표현해
안현경 화가의 작품은 자연에서 소재를 얻는다. 소멸과 생성이 하나의 원을 그리며 순환을 나타내는 자연은 어느 화가에게나 매력적인 소재다. 그 중 특별히 안 화가의 마음을 끌었던 것은 생성의 과정에서 나타나는 희망과 즐거움이다. 이번 서울오픈아트페어에서 안 화가가 전시한 'A Banquet of Flowers' 시리즈 역시 꽃을 소재로 선택하여, 보고 있으면 눈앞에서 뚝뚝 떨어질 것 같은 화사한 색채감과 향기가 느껴질 듯한 생동감을 동시에 맛볼 수 있는 유려한 작품을 탄생시켰다.

아크릴과 혼합 재료를 사용해 그린 이번 작품에서는 들판의 한가운데를 고스란히 찍어 올린 듯한 순수함이 엿보인다. 캔버스 가득 보이는 분홍과 녹색의 어우러짐은 자연을 멀리서 바라보는 것이 아니라 그 안에서 하나가 된 듯한 느낌을 전달해 준다. 자연은 단지 존재하는 것만으로 우리에게 큰 기쁨을 준다. 생명체와 자연의 합일을 부각하기 위해 안 화가는 빛으로 인한 색채의 순수성을 부각하는 작업을 이어가고 있다.

작품에서 느껴지는 독특한 질감 덕분인지 안 화가의 작품은 마냥 화려하고 화사하기보다는 생명이 지닌 찬란함과 무게감을 동시에 느끼게 한다. 하나의 또렷한 이미지로 남기보다 다소 흐릿하게 보이고 무수히 널려 있는 꽃들의 풍경 사이에서 짙은 향취를 느낄 수 있는 것이 안 화가의 작품만이 가지고 있는 독특한 매력이라 할 수 있다.

안 화가는 “자연(自然)의 아름다운 생명체 중 하나인 풀과 꽃들은 아름다움과 신선함을 선사하는 매우 소중한 존재이다. 새벽 이른 아침이나 화사한 햇빛속의 자태에서 혹은 비 온 후나 달빛을 받는 밤에도 신선함과 꿈, 희망, 생명력을 가져다주는 원동력. 에너지(Energy)이며, 정적(靜寂) 속에서 우리에게 주어진 이 기운에 매료된다”고 작품 의도를 밝혔다.

싱가포르 한국 초대작가전 최우수상 등 수상하며 주목
안현경 화가는 동덕여자대학교 미술대학 회화과(서양화 전공) 학사 및 석사 과정을 졸업하고 동덕 아트 갤러리에서 제1회 개인전을 가진 후 28회의 초대전 및 단체그룹전을 거치며 독특한 색감과 질감을 통해 많은 작가들 중 단연 주목받았다. 안 화가는 2012 한국, 독일, 프랑스 국제교류미술전, 독일 Kleeve Art Forum, 2014 그리스 한류미술의 물결전, 싱가포르 한국 초대작가전(최우수상 수상) 등에 참가했으며 올해 코엑스에서 열린 서울오픈아트페어에도 갤러리 엘 소속 작가로 참가했다.

Breathing in nature where life and death are circulating
Attracting spectators with unique color and texture

Expressing hope and pleasure of nature
Artist Ann gets inspiration for her works from nature. Nature, where life and death are circulating, is a universal subject for most artists. And Ann finds her inspiration from hope and pleasure happening during the process of life in nature. Her series work 'A Banquet of Flowers', exhibited at this years Seoul Open Art Fair, takes flowers as its subject matter and it provides vivid colors to spectators as if the petals of flowers are about to fall. It was made of mixed materials and acrylic and spectators might imagine that Ann moved a patch of the field into the canvas. The mingling of canvas-full of pink and green also makes spectators to be in the canvas. 

Nature gives us a big pleasure for its existence. Ann makes the purity of colors conspicuous in the painting to emphasize the harmony between nature and living things. Thanks to its texture, spectators can also feel about the seriousness of the painting. We might appreciate the scent the flowers in the painting might spread on the effect of hundreds of flowers being blurred. Ann says "grass and flowers are precious beings that give us beauty and freshness. They tell us about dream, hope and vitality in the morning, day, evening and in the sunshine or moonlight and we are naturally attracted to them by their vitality and energy."

Winning grand prize at Singapore Korean Artists Invitation Exhibition
Ann majored in Fine Arts (Western Paintings) at Dongduk Womens University and Graduate School of Fine Arts at the same university. She held her first solo exhibition at Donduk Art Gallery and has participated in group and invitation exhibitions for 28 times. She drew much attention from people with her unique color and texture of the works. She participated in 2012 Korea, Germany and France International Art Exchange Exhibition, Kleeve Art Forum in Germany, 2014 Greece Korean Art Wave Exhibition, Singapore Korean Artists Invitation Exhibition, and Seoul Open Art Fair as a member artist of Gallery L.
