Providing professional and effective tax services
True business partner Jo & Lee Tax Accountants
Accountants Jo Mi-jeong and Lee Jae-hak of Jo & Lee Tax Accountants

Going forward rather than being content
"It didn't take much time to decide what I want with my life."

National Tax Service is a specialized organization. It might seem conservative as a public institution but it also evolves itself to provide better services. Jo worked for NTS for more than 20 years and she obtained a tax accountant certification while she was working there. (You can automatically obtain the certificate when you work there for 30 years). She needed the certificate to provide more effective and professional services.

Jo says "I thought if I worked in one place for a long time, it might be too late for me to do something what I wanted. But before I leave, I wanted to have more professional knowledge in what I'm doing. Also, I was rather discouraged as there was a limitation of providing services in a company. But if I run my own company I could provide services I want." Jo was ready to give up the advantages she might have had as a public servant in NTS and chose to use her skills, experience and know-how at a maximum level in her own company. She thought it was a right choice as she felt sad when thinking that most of her life would be spent in one place as a public servant. It was a great step forward for her rather than being content at the same position.

Pointing out the current problems of the business
Suggesting a positive and effective method

Unlike other similar firms, Jo & Lee Tax Accountants pursues a direct communication with the business. They analyse the company's financial status in detail, provides customized tax consultation and uses clients' feedback as their important improvement sources.

Jo says "most businessmen need to manage their assets. For this, we give professional analysis on the assets, where to invest when more income is generated and how to reduce tax." Because of this intensive management schedule, Jo and Lee have a busy day at work. Analysis on one company itself often takes a week.

Jo continues "when we point out the parts which cause financial loss to a company, our clients show a great satisfaction to us because it helps set up a new future direction of the company. Also, we prefer providing advice on reducing tax  to encouraging a new investment or speculation and because of this, we can maintain a good relationship with our clients. We analyse financial statements of a company with the clients together once in a month so that we can provide easy and direct methods to find problems and its counter measures."
Unlike other tax accounting firms where each person takes care of only the part they are given, Jo and Lee work together by exchanging opinions and methods. This is one of the things that Jo & Lee Tax Accounts is different from other firms.

Helping to draw the most effective decision making
Lee says "I expect that tax accountants will be getting saturated. Most important thing to keep in mind as a tax accountant is to provide helpful service to clients. Some of our clients rather seem to be interested in playing golf with us. Then I tell them 'Sorry Sir and Madam. We are specialized tax accountants. We'd love to do it if we could but we didn't have time to play the golf before and we cannot now as we are busy enough to make things right for our clients'. In other words, what we pursue is not to get acquainted but to help our clients draw the most effective decision making in terms of their finance management. In addition, we need to prepare the ground for our juniors so that they can easily settle down in the industry."

For this Jo & Lee's professionalism, many of Jo & Lee's clients show a deep trust to them. Their clients have an impression that Jo & Lee is their business partner rather than a third specialized party which provides a necessary service.
Lee says "our clients praise us high for our sincerity and attention to detail. Because we have worked for NTS for a long time and have experience and know-how in the tax field, we always complete our task to perfection and we are proud of that."

However, the most difficult part of Jo & Lee's job is to decide how much service fee they need to charge their clients. Jo says "if we look back after 5 years and don't regret about the service fee we charged, it means we did it appropriately. Some clients tell us to charge a standard fee but we want to earn based our effort we provided to each case. If we focus only on making profits, we are the ones who will suffer from the stress. No matter how small and large the case might be, we just give our best to our clients."
