삶의 방향과 희망을 제시하는 ‘긍정의 명리학’

사람들은 무심코 어려운 상황에 닥쳤을 때 “아이고 내 팔자야”라는 말을 자주 한다.  그러면서도 사주팔자의 뜻을 모르는 사람들이 대다수다. 사주팔자(四柱八字)란 태어난 연월일시(年月日時)의 ‘네 기둥(四柱)’과 간지 ‘여덟 글자(八字)’를 뜻한다. 대부분 사주팔자를 미신적인 용어로 인식하고 있는데 이는 학문적 용어이다. 사주팔자에 의거하여 인생의 길흉화복과 운의 흐름을 살펴보는 것. 이것이 명리학이다. 

나를 알고 타인을 이해하는 긍정의 학문  
명리학은 조선시대 과거시험 과목 중 하나였던 고급학문이다. 학문으로서의 위상과 가치가 충분함에도 오늘날 미신이라는 오명 때문에 그 가치를 인정받지 못하고 있다. 세존명리연구소 안란희 원장은 “일제치하 36년 동안 한국인의 정통성과 역사가 말살되는 과정에서 명리학을 미신화 시켜버린 일제의 잔재 때문에 아직도 명리학이 제도권 밖에서 학문으로서 대접을 제대로 받지 못하고 있는 것이 현실”이라고 전한다. 

명리학은 ‘사주명리학’이라고도 하는데 주역에 근본을 둔 학문이긴 하나 방향은 다르다. 음양오행의 배합과 상호 관계에 기본 바탕을 두고 태어난 연월일시를 대우주의 흐름, 즉 12절기에 대입하여 소우주인 인간의 길흉화복을 포괄적으로 살펴보는 학문이 ‘명리학’이다. 그래서 명리학을 ‘절기학’이라고도 한다. 안 원장은 명리학이 사람들에게 ‘희망을 주는 학문’으로 긍정의 힘을 발휘한다고 강조한다. 

사람들은 누구나 자신의 미래에 대해 알기를 원한다. 자신이 어디로부터 왔는지, 또 어디로 가는지, 더 구체적으로는 생로병사의 비밀과 자기 운명의 부귀공명과 희로애락을 어떻게 겪어갈 것인지 미리 알기를 원한다. 때문에 영감(靈感)이나 직관(直觀), 신(神)의 존재에 의존하며 미래를 예측하기 위한 노력들은 여러 경로를 통하여 어느 나라든 끊임없이 시도되어 왔다. 특히 동양에서는 일정하게 변화를 거듭하는 대자연의 이치를 응용하는 미래예측학(未來豫測學)이 다양하고 깊게 연구되고 발전되어 왔다. 이러한 동양의 미래예측학 중에서도 일반에 가장 잘 알려져 있으며 가장 대표적인 학문이 바로 명리학이다. 안 원장은 “명리학은 점을 치는 점술학이 아니다.

현대 명리학의 학문적 영역은 상담학에 속하며 사주팔자를 중심으로 성격, 건강, 적성, 대인관계 등 타고난 개인의 특성과 운의 흐름을 분석하는데 중점을 둔다. 사람은 자기만의 타고난 그릇이 있다. 자기가 타고난 그릇의 형태가 알맞은 용도로 쓰일 때 가장 효과적이고 빛이 나는 것이다. 그것이 개성이라는 것이다. 자신의 개성을 알아주고 인정해주는 누군가를 만나게 되면 도약하는 인생으로 거듭날 수 있듯이 사람은 누구를 만나느냐에 따라 어떻게 사는가도 결정된다”라고 전했다.   

명리학은 삶의 방향과 희망을 제시하고 인간을 위한 애정의 학문이라고 안 원장은 말한다. 명리학이 인생을 다루는 학문이기에 이 학문을 접하는 사람은 자기 성찰의 기회가 될 것이고, 인간관계에 있어 나를 알고 타인을 이해하는데 상호보완적인 긍정적 에너지를 얻을 수 있다고 덧붙였다.

인간을 위한 애정의 학문 ‘명리학’
커리어우먼이었던 안 원장이 명리학에 관심을 갖게 된 계기는 우연히 친구들 모임에서 ‘사주팔자를 학문으로 풀어주더라’라는 말을 들은 후부터였다. “도대체 어떤 학문이기에 미래를 예측할 수 있는가”라는 호기심으로 시작한 명리학이 우주의 섭리가 담긴 논리적인 학문이라는 것에 매료되어 본격적인 탐구가 시작되었다. 그녀는 “이왕이면 인격이 갖춰진 선생님을 만났으면 하는 바람도 컸었고, 제대로 잘 배워보고 싶다는 욕심이 컸다”라며 회사생활을 하면서 퇴근 후의 시간과 주말을 이용하여 지역을 불문하고 방문했다고 한다. 덧붙여 학문적 호기심으로 시작한 명리학이 직업으로 이어질 줄은 상상조차 할 수 없었던 때라고 회고했다. 

안 원장은 만나는 사람 모두에게서 무언가 배우면서 자신의 수양을 쌓고, 사람과 더불어 사는데 도가 있다는 것이 그녀의 지론이다. 인간은 고립된 존재가 아니기에 사람과 사람 사이에서 관계를 맺고 살아간다. 자기만의 소신을 가지고 사람과의 관계맺음에서 수양의 길이 있다고 말했다. 안 원장은 명리학을 공부하면서 “처음에는 나 자신을 중심으로 세계를 봤지만 점차 사람과의 관계맺음에 있어 수많은 세계가 연결되고 있음을 깨달았다. 상담을 위해 찾아오는 그분들의 이야기와 인생을 전해 들으면서 오히려 제가 많은 부분을 배우고 있다”고 밝히는 한편, 상담하러 오는 분들도 단순한 재미로 보러 간다는 생각을 바꾸고 자신이 타고난 사주팔자가 어떤 운으로 흘러가는지 살펴본다는 진지함을 가져보는 생각 전환의 필요성을 강조했다.

안 원장은 다년간의 직장생활을 통해 커리어를 쌓으며 명리학자로 거듭나는데 있어서도 ‘올바른 배움의 자세’가 큰 몫을 했다고 말했다. 
글로벌 시대를 살고 있는 현 시점에서 ‘명리학’의 효용을 다시 한번 되새겨 보며, 앞으로 안란희 원장이 쌓아가는 ‘희망의 명리학’을 통해 현대를 살아가는 사람들이 좀 더 긍정적인 내일을 맞이하길 기대해 본다.  

‘Affirmative Four Pillars of Destiny’ suggests a direction of life and hope

When people are in trouble or at risk carelessly, they often say like this, “My goodness, what a destiny in my life”. However, most of people don’t really know what sajupalja means exactly. What sajupalja means is there are four pillars of year, month, day and time and 8th letter of the sexagenary cycle. Usually, people believe that sajupalja is a superficial term but this is an academic term. According to sajupalja, looking at the flow of fortune is the thing. This is Myungrihak. 

Positive study to understand me and others 
Myungrihak was premium learning, which was one of state examination subjects. As a subject, it has enough status and value but it has got a disgrace as superstition and because of that, it has not be accepted the value. Chief Ahn Ran-Hee of SEJON Myungri said, “For 36 years, under the Japanese colony, they made Myungrihak into superstition while Korean’s tradition and history was destroyed and it is still what people believe like that. Myungrihak is still treated as a study outside of academic system for real.” 

Myungrihak is also called as Sajuyungrihak, and it is based on the translation but has a different direction. Myungrihak is a study about year, month, day and time on a birth; so to speak, it is a study for looking into human’s fortunes comprehensively by substituting to 12 subdivisions of the seasons. So, Myungrihak is considered as a study of subdivisions of the seasons. Chief Ahn is emphasizing Myungrihak has a positive power for people as a hopeful study. 

People want to know about their future. They want to know where they come from and where they are heading at. To be more specific, they want to know how to go through their fortunes and wealth of their destiny and the secret of birth, old age, sickness and death in advance. Because of that, the effort to figure out the future depending on their inspiration, insight and god has been tried constantly in everywhere. Especially, in Asia, a study of predicting the future has been researched more different and deeper. Among these oriental studies of predicting the future, Myungrihak is the most popular study to the majority.

Chief Ahn said, “Myungrihak is not a fortune-telling as a subject. Nowadays, Myungrihak’s academic range is in the counseling study and more focusing on analyzing the fortunes’ flow and natural born characteristics such as person’s personality, health, aptitude and relationship centering on sajupalja. People have their own uniqueness. This is a character. When they meet someone who knows their personality and character and accepts it, they can have a better life; therefore, it can be dependent on which people are going to meet in life.” 

Chief Ahn says that Myungrihak is an affectionate study to direct the way of life and suggest the hope. Myungrihak would be a chance for people who are interested in to look back and they will have a positive energy in a relationship with other people.

Chief Ahn who was a career woman had a curiosity about Myungrihak and the reason why is when she joined the meeting with her friends, she accidently heard Myungrihak can solve sajupalja in an academic way. Since then, she was curious of what kind of study is able to predict the future. From that point, she was attracted by Myungrihak that is a logical study having the universal providence and later she started exploring with a full-scale. 

She said, “I had hope to want to meet a teacher with a good personality at all and was greedy to desire to learn more properly.” She used to visit using her weekends and after work. In addition, she recalled that she had no idea that Myungrihak would be connected to a job, which was begun as a curiosity in an academic way. Chief Ahn has a philosophy that there is a way in living with people and she can improving herself physically and mentally during learning something from everyone who she meets. Since people are not supposed to be isolated people have a relationship among the people. 

Chief Ahn confessed during studying Myungrihak, “At first, I saw the world on my side but as long as I have more relationship with people, I found out various phases are connected. Also, she emphasized that it is necessary for people’s life and story who visit her for counseling to have a seriousness to check where their sajupalja that was born with their nature is flowing. Chief Ahn said that the approach of righteous attitude in learning was helpful to have been able to be a Myungri researcher while having a career throughout her office job for many years. 

At the current point, we are living in a global time and expect for people who are living in this modern time to have more positive future via her ‘hopeful Myungrihak’, which chief Ahn Ran-Hee is working on.
