Park suggests a creative economy model

Park visits iron factories alley


President Park visited the iron factories alley in Mullae-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu on 21 last month and congratulated the opening of 'Mullae Small Business Support Center'. The alley was naturally formed from 1960 and Park's visit was the first time for 50 years of the alley's history. The visit was an expression of her will to expand her '3 Year Plan' for creative economy even to alleys. Park participated in the opening ceremony of Mullae Small Business Support Center and had a look around the products of iron-masters and artists. Park discussed about youth promotion, improving production environment, finding new projects, and cooperation, and encouraged their efforts and the MOU between the center, Doosan Infracore and Korean Institute of Industrial Technology. The MOU will revive the advantage of Mullae-dong where commerce and culture coexist to introduce a customized innovative vision for the region by combining ICT and culture as well as commercializing Mullae-dong products and promoting the area as a cultural hot spot.


Park talks with top chefs

Park had a luncheon with world's renowned chefs on 20 last month at the Blue House. Participated were Pierre Gagniaire, Joan Roca, Ren? Redzepi, Geonghyun An, Geongsik Im, the minster of Culture, Sports and Tourism Geongduk Kim and the Culture & Education head Sangryul Kim. The luncheon was to talk about the Korean sauces and fermented food with world's chefs to rediscover our food culture and find a way for the Korean food to communicate with the world's food. The participated foreign chefs are known to be keen on the Korean sauces and fermented food. 

Pierre Gagniaire thinks food as a work of art. He is famous for developing reinterpreted French food by using the Korean soybean & red pepper pastes. Joan Roca is famous for experiment which he combined modern methods with traditional ones to conquer the Spanish food world. He developed a new recipe by using soy sauce to create a unique flavor. Ren? Redzepi created a new Scandinavian style food through seasonal and native ingredients and pulled up the regional food to the world level. He is keen on soybean paste and soy sauce. 

Park said that food tells one's history, culture and the ways people live and asked the chefs to support the Korean food to grow to be loved by the people of the world.
