벤처, 중소기업이 살아야 나라가 산다. 박근혜 대통령은 벤처, 중소기업 육성에 아낌없는 투자를 하겠다고 밝혔다. 즉, 나라의 주춧돌이 될 수 있는 작은 기업의 강하고 혁신적인 기술이 많이 나와야 나라의 기둥이 튼튼해질 수 있는 것이다.

뛰어난 아이디어를 바탕으로 삶의 편리함과 인간의 필요 욕구에 충족시키며 기술개발에 만전을 기하고 있는 기업. 그 기업들 덕에 우리의 삶은 한층 풍요로워졌다.

전라북도 전주에 위치한 우리테크가 이런 기업 중 한 곳이다. 전주비전대학교 겸임교수로 있는 김재중 대표가 이끌고 있는 우리테크는 전라북도에서도 우수한 기술력을 보유한 손꼽히는 우수중소기업 중 한 곳이다. 

중소기업청 선정, 전북대학교 내 연구마을 사업에도 선정되며 기술력을 인정받아 산학연의 우수모범사례로 꼽히고 있는 우리테크의 막강한 기술력을 살펴본다.

조경산업의 전자화,

고지전동전지가위의 국산화 이룬다

전지가위를 떠올리면 대부분 과수원에서 과일을 수확하거나 가지치기 등을 할 때 사용하는 가위로 생각하는 정도에 그친다. 하지만 그 쓰임새는 의외로 많다. 도로 옆 가로수의 가지치기나 화훼, 조경 등의 분야에서 다양한 용도로 사용된다. 

중요한 것은 일반 전지가위의 경우 높은 곳의 가지치기나 과수 수확을 위해선 사다리나 또 다른 설치물을 이용하는 경우가 많은데, 이럴 경우 안전상 위험도가 높아질 뿐 아니라 인력과 시간의 낭비되는 상황이 발생한다.

이에 김재중 대표가 고안한 것이 고지전동전지가위다. 이 제품은 높은 곳 수확과 가지치기에 특화시켜 능률을 올렸으며, 최적화된 설계와 우수한 복합소대로 제작해 작업자의 피로하중을 최소화하는데 중점을 뒀다. 

또한, 고지 사용에 용이하도록 헤드(가위)부분에 회전 기술을 세계최초로 접목시켜 특허를 받은 상태다. 이 기술은 높은 곳에 있는 대상물을 편리하게 절단할 수 있도록 작업자의 손목처럼 방향을 쉽게 제어할 수 있는 기술인데, 수확해야 하는 대상물의 위치, 높이, 방향에 맞춰 움직일 수 있다.

더욱이 기존 해외수입제품이 국내 전지가위 시장을 독점하다시피 했다면 우리테크의 제품 출시와 동시에 전지가위의 국산화가 이뤄질 것으로 예상된다.

이는 편리한 애프터서비스와 함께 해외수입제품의 2/3정도로 형성된 제품가격과 지금까지는 볼 수 없었던 헤드 회전기술의 접목을 통해 예측해볼 수 있는 결과다. 

좀 더 자세히 살펴보면 절단부의 경우 전지가위를 자동으로 90도 회전시켜 작업에 용이하게 했으며, 절단부를 샤프트와 분리해 충전기와 유선으로 연결하면 일반 전기 절단기로도 사용이 가능하다.

또, 전지작업 시 원하는 부위가 절단될 수 있도록 기어 및 전동 방식의 절단부 구동 매커니즘을 설계/개발했고, 고강성 재질의 소재로 가위를 구성, 칼날 미끄럼 방지 및 용도에 따라 교체할 수 있도록 개발했다. 

모터부의 경우에는 장치의 구동범위 제어를 위한 Limit 스위치를 적용하고, 운전상태와 운전 조건이 일치할 경우 모터를 정지시키는 컨텐서를 적용했다.

또한, 칼날의 개폐속도 조절이 가능하도록 제어부를 설계하고, 수동구동도 가능하도록 수동운전장치를 적용했으며, 비상 상황 시 구동 정지할 수 있도록 비상차단장치를 적용시켰다.

샤프트 부분도 눈여겨볼 필요가 있다. 경량설계 구조해석을 실시해 절단부 및 틸팅부 하중에 따른 변형 및 강성을 파악했고, 구동 시 모터의 진동수 회피를 위한 제품의 동적 모달을 해석했다. 또한, 복합재 최적 두께 재현 및 탄소 복합소재의 최적화를 이뤘으며, 수직연장을 통한 샤프트는 비강도가 우수한 탄소섬유 복합재를 사용, 제품의 경량화와 내구성을 만족할 수 있도록 설계하기도 했다. 

현재 이 제품은 상용화 단계에 접어들었으며, 내년 3월 경 출시될 것으로 보인다. 또, 전북대학교와 산학연을 통한 최적의 제품 생산을 위해 노력하고 있으며, 전지가위의 국산화를 목표로 최고의 제품을 생산하겠다고 김재중 대표는 전했다. 

전동 바비큐 그릴 ‘머그릴’통해

캠핑 문화 바꾼다

우리테크의 또 다른 혁신제품인 머그릴은 우연한 기회에 김재중 대표가 바비큐의 편리함을 위해 제작한 제품이다. 먹으리+그릴의 합성어로 바비큐 그릴에 전동장치를 부착해 회전 바비큐를 가능토록 했다. 특징은 난성형성 소재(오스테나이트계 스테인레스)로 뛰어난 내식성을 보이며, 충격에 강하고, 열팽창에 있어서는 일반 스틸의 1.5배, 열전도도는 1/3배에 달한다. 이는 내마모성, 불연성, 내열성, 내식성에서 기존의 제품보다 뛰어나다고 이해하면 된다.

또한, 고정식 전동 머그릴과 접이식 전동 머그릴 2가지로 제품을 구성해 사용용도에 따라 선택할 수 있도록 했으며, 캠핑장이나 펜션, 야유회 등 사업장을 가진 자나 인원이 많을 경우엔 고정식을 일반 캠퍼의 경우 접이식 머그릴을 선택하면 된다.

현재 많은 사람들이 바비큐를 할 때 고기가 타는 것을 쉽게 경험할 수 있을 것이다. 이런 문제점을 완벽하게 보완한 머그릴은 전동장치를 이용한 회전을 통해 신경 쓰지 않아도 먹기 좋게 고기를 구울 수 있다는 장점이 있다.

2008년 설립된 우리테크는 금형개발 및 자동화기계 CAD/CAM 시스템을 이용한 고정밀 기계가공의 전 과정을 갖춘 기업이다. 특허등록 2건, 출원 2건 등 기술 개발에 있어서는 철저한 철학을 가지고 있는 기업이기도 하다. 

머그릴의 경우 독자적인 기술력을 바탕으로 자체브랜드화 시키기 위한 단계에 도달했으며, 전기가위의 경우 세계 최초의 기술을 바탕으로 전지가위의 국산화를 노리고 있다.

앞으로 김 대표는 틈새시장 공략에 더욱 열을 올리겠다고 전했다. 삶의 질을 높일 수 있는 기술, 꼭 필요한 기술을 개발하는 것이 그의 목표다.

Their innovative technology can be the nation's cornerstone and the more we have it the stronger the country will become. Our lives have become abundant thanks to their development based on the outstanding ideas to fulfill our needs and convenience. One of these companies is Wooritech in Jeonju city, Jelloabuk province. Wooritech is one of the top small & medium companies which has excellent technologies and the CEO Jaejung Kim is also an adjunct professor at Jeonju Vision University. Wooritech was selected for Chonbuk National University's My Village Research Project by Small & Medium Business Administration, and is a successful case of industry-academic cooperation. The Korea's top bilingual magazine Power Korea has learned about Wooritech's powerful technologies.

Achieving digitalization of the landscaping industry and localization of electric pruning scissors.

Pruning scissors remind people of scissors used in an orchard but their usage is much more than that. They can be used in the floriculture and landscape fields as well as pruning the street trees. The important thing is that normal pruning scissors have to use a ladder when pruning the higher part of a tree or harvesting fruit which can increase the safety matter, labor and wast of time. For this, Kim made altitude-electric pruning scissors with optimized design and excellent composite material to increase efficiency while decreasing the worker's fatigue load. It is patented for the world's first rotation technique attached on the head of the scissors. The technique enables the worker to control the scissors like his wrist and it can be moved according to the position, height and direction of a branch or fruit. This is a good news because the existing pruning scissors have mostly been foreign brands but it is now possible that Wooritech's scissors can achieve localization of the Korean pruning scissors with their convenient A/S and only 2/3 of the foreign brand's price range. The specification-wise, the scissors can rotate 90 degrees and it also be used as a normal cutter if connecting the separated cutting part from shaft with a battery charger through a cable. It is designed with the gear or electric style cutting-part-drive mechanism to cut the wanted part and used high stiffness materials to prevent the blade slipping and to change it easily. Regarding the motor part, the Limit Switch was applied to control the drive range and the Condenser was also applied which stops the motor when the driving status and the driving condition are matched. The control part was designed to adjust the opening and shutting speed of the blade, and they applied the manual operation device to operate it manually, and the emergency shut-out device to stop the operation in emergency. As for the shaft part, they implemented light weight design and structure-interpreting to understand its deformation and hardness according to the cutting or tilting part load, and they also analyzed its dynamic modal to avoid the number of vibrations of the motor when operating. In addition, they optimized carbon composite material and reenacted its optimum thickness, and the shaft used carbon fiber composite material to satisfy lightness and durability. Currently, these scissors have reached commercialization and is expected to be released in next March. Wooritech is working together with Chonbuk National University and industry-academic cooperation at the moment, and Kim said that he will do his best to produce the best products in order to lead localization of the scissors.

The electric barbecue grill 'Mugrill' changes the camping culture.

The Wooritech's another innovative product 'Mugrill' was developed by a chance by Kim for camping conveniences. Mugrill is a combination of the words "mugri(to eat)" and "grill". An electric device is attached to the grill in order to rotate the skewer automatically. It is made of austenite-stainless style material and is corrosion resistant and burst-proof, and has 1.5 times thermal expansion and 1/3 times heat conductivity than normal steels. In other words, it has better wear resistance, incombustibility, thermal resistance and corrosion resistance than the existing products. The product provides 'fixed Mugrill' for a large group of people and 'folding Murgrill' for a small group of people. Many people experience the meat being burnt when barbecuing, but Mugrill solved this problem by rotating the skewer automatically.

Wooritech was established in 2008 and facilitated 'mold development & automatic machine CAD/CAM system' for high-precision machine processing. Currently, they have registered 2 patents and applied 2 patents, and have a thorough philosophy regarding technology development. Mugrill is at the stage of making it a brand and Wooritech also aims to localize the scissors. Kim said that he will more focus on niche market. Kim's aim is to develop the technologies which can improve the quality of life. Wooritech is growing by pioneering new markets and determined to make new culture by their innovative technologies.
