The baby goods of Ida Co. made out of a mother¡¯s honest passion is now recognized as ¡®the best baby goods¡¯ representing the industry in the warm support of other mothers who want comfortable and safe products. We met President Lee Hyun-hee, who said she wanted to make a baby-goods company representing Korea with its value trusted in from generation to generation rising above a family or a society. ¡°Mothers look for better things for their baby and want to share them if they find. Their sense of solidarity arises from the sole thing: their love of baby.¡±

President Lee had the same experience when, on the visit to her native home, she ran out of the diaper and hurriedly got them from a nearby diaper factory. Finding it better than any diapers she had been using, she recommended it to her acquaintances. ¡°The product had no pulling together but with good absorption. Especially, it gave no stimulus and left no rash on the sensitive skin of my daughter. Then, I used it by ordering from the factory and there were an increasing number of users in my neighborhood. As the size of the order became larger, the factory wanted to find the reason and I visited there to see the process of production myself wondering what made this diaper different in quality.¡±

According to her, the president of the diaper factory didn¡¯t mind the questions of this young mother at all but explained in detail what the reason was for selecting the raw material and what process they went through to make a specialized product. Here, seeing this smaller factory which used only carefully selected raw materials with differentiated production system, President Lee started an open market online. Though the market started on the level of trading personal goods in a wish to share the good product of diaper, it achieved the sales of over a hundred million won in the first year becoming large in size as a business. About that time, the factory, which had been delivering to a large foreign-affiliated mart, faced a crisis of stopping production with a sudden withdrawal of the mart. ¡°It was just a wish for the diaper to be produced on. I wouldn¡¯t have started if I had thought it was going to be a business. It was a simple passion about selling it under our name from that time on in order not to stop production because they were good diapers used in love by many mothers including me. But the current Nabizam was made by adding the lacking parts I had felt in using the diaper as a mother by fitting to make the baby¡¯s movement more comfortable, convenient form at an outing, thinner structure even for use in the summer and design liked by the babies. All my competitiveness as a CEO is being a mother. ¡®I wish there to be this or that product¡¯ ¡®I want to make a comfortable and safe product that can be used for my daughter,¡¯ etc¡¦ I have been converting my wish as a mother into each product of Ida through actual nursing.¡±                     


Wins confidence of mothers with honest products from the quality-first principle  


Nabizam diaper, a cradle of Ida Co. and its representative brand, is repeating double digit growth in sales each year with only mothers¡¯ word of mouth. In 2013, the company got the highest mark in the quality evaluation on baby¡¯s diapers conducted by the Korea Consumer Agency and received a favorable opinion from media as a product proving objective superiority in quality compared to expensive famous brands from home and abroad. At the beginning of this year, Ida received attention from media once more. One broadcasting program dealing with the safety of baby¡¯s wet tissues selected Ida¡¯s Haneulsoo as the product from a model company. Haneulsoo wet tissue was introduced as having no stimulus, most similar to water. It is made of the natural inorganic matter zinc zeolite of the level ¡°0¡± in safety danger among the baby¡¯s wet tissues using humidifier disinfectants responsible for baby¡¯s death or chemical antiseptics that can cause skin diseases. After it was on the air, Haneulsoo wet tissue increased in sales over ten times under the byname of dissatisfaction ¡°0¡± wet tissue. 

¡°We are slow in our process. Nabizam laid one more sheet on the general process of producing diapers to prevent conglomeration and increase absorption. We got high scores in moment absorption, absorption hour, reflux amount and fitting only because we took the complex process of increasing the unit cost of production for our strength. When developing Haneulsoo wet tissue, we took three years just to find a natural preservative. Despite the repeated process of production and throwing away, we still wanted to make a worthy product that could lead the market trend no matter how slow it was.¡± President Lee said it is the time to reestablish the corporate identity when it is nearly ten years since foundation achieving an alarming growth with unexpected compliments from media and mothers¡¯ confidence. ¡°An enterprise aiming at quantitative growth cannot have any benign influence within the community it belongs to. Keeping to the quality-first principle, we want to write the history of Ida as an enterprise that makes products indispensable to the world.¡±


Leadership of maternity makes a healthy enterprise thinking of nature, society and man. 


The biggest aim of Ida for this year is to obtain certification for customer-centered management (CCM).  

CCM is the system of the Fair Trade Commission and the Korea Consumer Agency to certify an enterprise that continues to develop the whole of company¡¯s production and management system in the consumers¡¯ place. President Lee said that she would plan to detail the customer satisfaction manual and prepare diverse communication windows for collecting the customers¡¯ opinions while preparing for CCM job training and certification examination. ¡°Our products are a necessary for babies, so when a problem arises, it can cause a big inconvenience to customers. So we concentrate on the process of delivery on orders or customer complaints so that it may be as quick as possible. We always keep in mind ¡°one in ten thousand.¡± We can work out problems positively only with such preparedness that humans are destined to make mistakes.¡± 

There was a time when Nabizam diaper entered into recall. By the error of a fabrics company, another model has come into some of the nonwoven raw materials. Though it was a high-quality nonwoven innocuous to the human body except for insignificant difference in fitting, a customer filed her complaint for a different feeling than before and President Lee recalled the whole quantity without hesitation. By chasing back after the customer¡¯s purchase information, the company called all customers who had purchased the product produced on the same date, asking for their understanding one after another. It was the countermeasure of her who believes that an enterprise¡¯s capability shows itself by presenting the best solution when a problem occurs. President Lee says that she wants to make products willingly chosen by her daughter, now ten years old, when she becomes a mother afterwards. It was her honest leadership that enabled her to start business with a mother¡¯s passion and build up the company into a healthy enterprise that thinks of nature, society and the next generation, and this deserves our expectation about Ida for the years to come.
