대한민국 평균 신장을 늘리기 위한 발걸음

통계청이 10일 발표한 2014년 청소년 통계 자료에 따르면 지난해 기준 초등학교 6학년 남학생의 키는 150.9㎝, 여학생은 151.2㎝로 나타났다. 10년 전보다 남학생 2.2㎝, 여학생 1.4㎝커졌다. 또한 중학교 3학년 남학생은 평균키는 169.0㎝, 여학생은 159.5㎝을 나타나 10년 전보다 남학생은 1.3㎝, 여학생은 0.2㎝ 커졌다. 반면 고등학교 3학년의 평균키는 10년 전보다 남학생이 0.1㎝, 여학생이 0.2㎝로 줄어드는 양상을 보였다. 이에 하이키한의원의 박승만 원장은 빨라진 성장 연령에 그 원인이 있다고 설명한다. 박승만 원장을 만나 최근 이슈화 되고 있는 내 아이의 성장부진과 성조숙증 문제를 건강하게 개선할 수 있는 방안을 한방에서 모색해 본다.

박 원장은 한약에 키를 크게 하는 성분이 있다는 것을 검증을 위해 세 차례에 걸쳐 동물실험을 진행하였고, 2001년부터 한국식품연구원과 공동연구를 통해 2005년 마침내 성장에 가장 최적화된 처방을 찾아냈다. 이것이 바로 하이키한의원만의 특허 받은 ‘KI-180’이다. “‘KI-180’는 성장호르몬 분비를 촉진해 키를 자라게 하는 신물질입니다. 이것은 동의보감에서 발육부진에 사용하던 가시오가피, 천마 외에 17종의 천연 생약에서 추출한 것으로 180이라는 숫자는 우리나라 청소년의 평균키가 180㎝가 되기를 바라는 의미에서 붙인 이름입니다.” 그는 성장호르몬 주사를 맞지 않고 천연한약만으로도 사춘기 남아는 연평균 9.4㎝, 여아는 7.5㎝까지 성장하는 효과가 있음을 강조했다.  

성조숙증 증가와 호르몬제 투여로 인한 부작용에 주목해야한다

아이의 키가 자라는 것을 방해하는 요인으로는 잘못된 식습관, 식욕부진, 수면의 질, 운동부족 등이 있지만 최근 박 원장은 성조숙증에 주목하고 있다. 실제로 사춘기가 1년 빨라지면 최종 키가 평균 5㎝ 정도 작아진다는 조사결과도 보고되고 있다. 박 원장은 2006년 1월부터 2014년 5월까지 초경지연을 목적으로 방문해서 치료 한 481명의 여아를 평균 1년10개월 치료한 후 전후 비교해 본 결과 E2(Estradiol)는 난포자극호르몬(FSH), 황체형성호르몬(LH)과 같은 여성호르몬의 진행을 1/5로 늦추고, 성장호르몬 IGF-1은 51.9%가 증가했으며 키는 총 12.5㎝가 컸다고 밝혔다.  “초경을 늦출 목적으로 사용되는 성호르몬 분비차단제는 조기폐경이나 난소 질환에 노출될 위험성이 높고 주사를 맞는 동안에도 골다공증이 유발돼 키가 덜 자랄 수도 있는 문제점이 있죠. 하지만 한방에서 그 대안을 찾는다면 아이의 건강을 살피면서 성조숙증도 함께 잡을 수 있습니다.”

According to the 2014 Youth Statistical Data announced by National Statistical Office (NSO) on 10th, the standard of boy students who are in the 6th grade in all elementary schools is 150.9㎝ and for girls, it is 151.2㎝ high. Compared to a result 10 years ago, it was a 2.2㎝ increased in boys and a 1.4㎝ increased in girls. Also, as for the standard of middle school students in 3rd grade, boys are 169.0㎝ high and girls are 159.5㎝ high. So, it shows boys are 1.3㎝ taller and girls are 0.2㎝ taller back in 10 years ago. In contrast, the standard height of students in 3rd grade in high school is 0.1cm smaller for boys and 0.2cm smaller in girls compared to those 10 years ago. We met the chief Doctor Park, Seung-Man who is trying to find out some solutions about a precocious puberty disease and a lack of growth, which are becoming an issue, these days, from the oriental medicine. 

Patented ‘KI-180’ inducing secretion of growth hormones 

It is a time era that good-looking people are attractive and more competitive; therefore, being small and short could cause a bully. If kids are small, their parents will worry about it a lot. So, it was quite interesting for ‘HIGHKI Growth Clinic’, which is a professional growth clinic. Only 16 years ago, the chief Doctor Park, Seung-Man was just a normal doctor in an oriental medical clinic in local and his major was even for women’s diseases. He was working like that, but he has his second daughter who was going to have the first birthday and she was so small and weak. It was the reason he started studying for a lack of growth. 

“We couldn’t do have a party for her because she couldn’t sit up properly. The chief Doctor Park proceeded three times of animal testing in order to show that there are some materials to grow kids in oriental medicine and he finally discovered the most optimized solution for that in 2005 by working with Korea Food Research Institute since 2001. This is ‘KI-180’, which is patented. “As for ‘KI-180’, it is a new substance to grow people’s heights by inducing their growth hormones. This comes from the description in Donguibogam and book says that there are some ingredients like E. Senticosus, gastrodia and other 17 natural living medicines. Besides, the number, 180 means by a hope that the Korean students’ standard height would be 180cm.” He emphasized that boys in during the puberty could grow about 9.4cm per year at average without the growth hormone shot and for girls, it could be 7.5cm. 

Have to look at some side-effects by the increase of a precocious puberty disease and putting hormones 

There are some reasons to cause the prevent of growing such as bad eating habit, lack of eating, quality of sleeping and lack of workout but, recently, the chief doctor Park has been talking about a precocious puberty disease. In fact, there is a report, if the puberty comes up one year earlier, the final height would be 5cm smaller at average. Dr. Park did test the number of 481 baby girls who visited his clinic for the purpose of taking it slowly and he controlled their women hormones like E2 (Estradiol), FSH and LH for one year and 10 months to be 20% slower. Then, their growth hormone, IGF-1 increased 51.9% and their total height was 12.5cm higher at average. 

“A blocking agent of sex hormones secretion for a purpose of slowing menarche makes dangers going into a premature ovarian failure or ovarian diseases highly and while a patient is taking injections, osteoporosis will be happened and could be a problem to grow. However, if we find out the solution in the oriental medicine, we can take care of children’s health and also manage the precocious puberty disease at the same time.” 

On the other hand, the chief Dr. Park has been helping one kid actor for 10 years now, because the boy was struggling from growing as a problem due to too much stress from a long-taking shooting for his job. It was a start and now he is helping many more other children with his talent donation. “Instead, I always made a written oath from any kid entertainers who I would help grow. It can be considered as my request for them to lead more meaningful social activities with more people as public figures.”
