최고급 명품 거세한우, 한돈 판매점 ‘한우람명품관’ 김영길 대표
매월 첫째 주와 셋째 주 월요일 수원시 팔달구 우만2동에 소재하고 있는 효도업소 ‘한우람명품관’ 에서는 지역의 어르신들을 모시고 여름철에 보양이 되는 우거지 한우 갈비탕을 무료로 대접한다. ‘사랑나누기 점심무료 효도봉사’는 지난 해 11월부터 시작해 8개월째 접어들고 있다. 지난 7월21일에는 130여명의 어르신들이 방문하여 점심식사를 했다. 미리오신 어르신들의 무료함을 달래주기 위한 섹스폰 연주 재능기부도 더해져 흥겨운 음악과 함께한 점심식사였다. 참된 나눔의 실천에서 행복을 느끼며 “우리의 한우, 한돈을 먹는 것이 한국경제에 큰 이바지를 한다.”고 말하는 ‘한우람명품관’ 김영길 대표의 이야기를 들어보았다.

‘한우람’은 2004년 탄생한 경기도 대표 브랜드로 수원화성, 용인, 여주축산농협의 한우공동브랜드다. 일찍이 국내 축산물 유통사업의 선두에서 축산업의 미래를 진두지휘한 수원축산농협은 2002년 축산물 전문유통센터를 개점하면서 농림축산식품부의 HACCP 인증을 받았다. 한우람명품관은 수원축산농협과 경기도가 손잡고 복잡한 유통단계를 거치지 않고 직접 G마크 축산물을 공급하자는 취지로 2011년 7월12일 전국최초로 탄생된 ‘G브랜드축산물타운’ 1호점이다. 한우람명품관에서 제공하는 명품 거세 한우, 한돈은 소비자단체가 주축이 되어 구성된 심사위원으로부터 엄격한 위생, 품질, 규격 검사과정을 통하여 인증되고 지속적으로 관리되는 경기도지사인증 G마크를 획득한 명품 한우, 한돈이다. 또한 경기도에서 나서 자라고 도축, 가공된 명품거세한우, 명품한돈 가운데서 특히나 1등급이상만 엄선하여 경기도지사인증 G마크를 받아 제공되고 있다. 올해 3년째인 경영중인 김 대표는 “한우람명품관은 최상의 거세한우, 한돈을 불필요한 유통마진을 빼서 공급하기 때문에 가격의 거품 없이 싼 가격으로 즐길 수 있다”며 맛, 안정성, 신뢰를 바탕으로 운영하고 있다고 설명했다. 또한 가계를 찾는 손님이 언제나 웃으며 먹을 수 있도록 신속, 정확하고 친절하며 상냥한 미소를 직원들에게 교육하고 강조한다. 김 대표는 직원들을 위한 복지에도 힘썼는데, 다른 가계에는 없는 남녀 휴게실을 만들어 휴식 시간과 공간을 보장하고 주방을 동선을 최소화하여 깨끗하고 일하기 편하도록 주방을 설계했다. 김 대표는 “직원이 행복해야 손님을 대할 때도 최선을 다하며 손님 또한 행복해 질 수 있다.”고 말하며 손님이 항상 즐겁고 맛있는 식사를 하게 만들 것임을 밝혔다.
효도업소로 시작한 작은나눔, ‘사랑나누기 점심무료 효도봉사’ 로 커져
김 대표의 나눔경영은 작은 것에서부터 시작됐다. 초기 어르신들을 위해 할수 있는 것들을 고민하던 중 10~15%정도 할인을 해주는 것이 좋겠다고 생각하여 바로 행동에 옮겼다. 취지는 좋았지만 실효성이 떨어졌다. 할인을 알고 찾아오는 어르신들은 드물었기 때문이다. 그러던 중 김 대표는 단골손님 중에 3대가 항상 가계를 찾는 손님들이 어느 날 갑자기 할아버지가 오지 않게 되자 그 이유를 묻던 중 고인이 되신 것을 알고 동병상련의 마음으로 진정성 있는 봉사를 해보기로 다짐하여 ‘사랑나누기 점심무료 효도봉사’ 라는 제목 하에 매월 2회 진행 하게 됐다. ‘사랑은 나눔으로부터의 시작’ 이라는 슬로건으로 지역 중,고학생들과도 연계하여 나눔의 의미를 함께 새기고 있으며, 방학을 맞이한 중학생들의 재능기부(악기연주:전자피아노,바이올렛,색소폰등)로 손자들로부터 재롱잔치를 보는 듯한 어른들의 반응이 뜨겁다. 김 대표는 “봉사를 하면서 제일좋은 것은 어르신들의 감사의 마음에 내 스스로 감동을 느껴 힐링이 된다는 것이다. 이제는 입소문이 퍼져 상당히 많은 어르신들이 찾아오시는데 매장의 자리가 제한돼 있어, 어쩔 수 없이 자리제한을 해서 진행하고 있다”며 아쉬워했다.
정부는 올해 말 세계무역기구(WTO)쌀 관세화 유예가 종료됨에 따라 쌀 시장을 전면 개방하기로 했다. 그동안 쌀 의무수입(MMA)물량을 늘려야하는 한시적 예외를 하는 것보다 관세화를 통한 쌀 시장 개방이 일본 및 대만의 사례를 통해 국내 쌀 산업 보호에 유리하다는 판단이다. 그러나 농업계에서는 상당한 반발과 우려를 하고 있다. 이에 대해 김 대표는 “사실 한우, 한돈을 비롯한 동물성 사료가 WTO의 의무곡물 수입량을 대부분 소진해 온 쌀시장방어의 최후의 보루 역할을 하고 있었다. 앞으로 쌀 수입이 본격적으로 진행되면 오래전 국내 밀 생산기반이 미국의 일시적인 밀 무상원조로 완전붕괴 되었듯이, 쌀 생산기반 붕괴가 급속화 될 것으로 예상된다.” 라며 앞으로 한우, 한돈의 대소비촉진이 시급히 이뤄져야 한다고 강력한 의지를 전달했다. 식량주권은 인간의 생존과 연결되는 문제이기 때문에 무엇보다도 중요하다. 우리 것을 소중히 여기고 한우, 한돈을 사랑하자고 역설하는 김 대표의 말처럼 많은 국민들이 한우, 한돈을 사랑하고 아껴야 한다. 이것이 곧 치열한 세계의 강대국들에게 당당히 맞설 수 있는 방법 중 하나이기 때문이다.
