어려운 환경 에서도 성공하리라는 확신을 가져
김원기 대표의 유년시절은 공부를 하고 싶었으나, 어려운 가정형편에 끼니를 때우기조차 녹녹치 않았다. 그러던 중 산 속 목장에서 반년동안 소를 키우면 송아지 한 마리를 준다는 말에 무작정 산속으로 들어갔다. 그 이전에도 감자로 끼니를 때우며 농사일을 하며 지냈기에 더욱 걱정 없이 내린 결정이기도 하다. 밤에는 별을 보고 낮에는 목장 일을 하며 먹을 것이 없어 나물반찬을 고추장에 찍어 먹고 빗물로 밥을 해 먹고 지내면서 부모님과 떨어져 사는 현실에 외로움을 많이 느꼈고 가족이 함께 사는 꿈을 꾸며, 부자가 되어야 겠다는 열망이 그 시절에 시작되었다고 한다. 이후 유리공장, 목장, 식당, 음식배달, 노점상 등 안 해 본 일이 없이 열심히 살아왔다. 어려운 유년기를 보낸후 청년시절에 들어선 김원기 대표는 홍대 앞에서 좀약이며 떡볶이며 가리지 않고 물건을 팔며 노점 일을 했다. 하지만 그는 단 한 순간도 성공을 의심하지 않았다. 그리고 당시 그는 팔지 못하고 남은 물건에 전전긍긍하고 있을 때이면, 양복을 입은 신사가 나타나 매일같이 남은 물건을 모두 팔아주곤 했다고 한다. 당시의 이러한 나눔을 받은 것이 현재 사회적인 기부를 위하여 ‘나눔 장학회’를 설립한 계기가 됬다. ‘나눔 장학회’를 통해 어려운 환경의 청소년들에게 자신이 받은 나눔을 베풀고 있는 것이다.

I Was Confident of My Success Even in Difficult Environments
Representative Kim Weon-gi wanted to study in his childhood, but it is difficult to come up with meals due to the poor and difficult family situation. In the meantime, he blindly into the mountains on terms of being given one calf if he raise cattle in a pasture in the mountains. It was also a more worry-free decision as he had worked in agriculture before, substituting a meal with potato. Watching the stars at night, doing ranch work during the day, he had no food to eat and ate side dishes of vegetables by dipping them in red pepper paste, cooked rice with rainwater. He felt a lot of loneliness as he lived away from his parents, which was a reality, when started to have a strong desire to be rich in those days, dreaming to live together with his family. After that he lived life to the full and so there have not been many jobs that he had not tried such as glass factory, ranch, restaurants, food delivery, street vendors, etc.
CEO Kim Weon-gi, after a difficult childhood, entering his youth days, did street vendors work such as selling mothball, tteokbokki, rice cakes in hot sauce etc selling ??stuff without choice in front of Hongik University.
