염 원장은 특화된 임플란트 기술로 50대 아주머니들의 희망으로 불렸다. 이제 그에게 치료를 받은 아주머니들이 딸들을 데려오고 있어, 환자층이 날로 젊어지고 있는 요즘이다. 또한 몇몇 러시아 환자들을 진료했더니 입소문이 나서 최근에는 러시아 환자도 크게 늘었다. “사회생활이 불가능할 정도의 치아 상태로 집에서만 칩거하던 쇼핑몰 대표님이 계셨어요. 관심 있는 여성분이 생겨 다시 세상으로 나가기 위해 치료를 받기로 마음먹었는데, 치료이후 그 분과 결혼에도 성공하고 더 큰 쇼핑몰의 대표님이 되신 모습을 지켜보며 의사로서 정말 큰 보람을 느끼게 되었습니다.”   

한편 염 원장은 그 동안 몽골을 방문해 구순구개열(언청이) 수술을 지원해 왔다. 보통은 해외 치과 의료봉사가 1회성으로 썩은 이를 빼주는 정도의 진료만 진행해왔지만 그가 속해있는 서울의료봉사재단의 적극적인 지원으로 구순구개열 수술이 가능해졌다. “우리나라에서는 어렸을 때 보통 6개월 안에 수술하여 흔적이 조금 남더라도 사회적으로 전혀 문제없이 생활할 수가 있는 질병이죠. 하지만 그곳에서는 코와 입까지 다 뚫린 채 생활하고 있는 사람들이 많은데 모두 인간 이하의 삶을 살고 있어 수술이 불가피합니다.” 염 원장은 앞으로도 적극적인 해외 봉사로 더 많은 아이들에게 예쁜 미소를 선물해 주고 싶다는 포부를 밝혔다.

Recently, many people tried to brace teeth for the treatment and correction as a purpose massively. Director Yeom used to be called to a hope of women who are around their 50’s with his specialized implant skill. Now, his past patients bring their daughters to the hospital so, his patients are getting younger. Also, he has fixed something for Russian people, it went viral and recently, he has many Russian patients, currently. 

“There was a shopping mall owner who had a terrible teeth arrangement, so he couldn’t be social. Usually, he worked from home and didn’t go out. He decided to get treatment to go out the world again. But, then there was a lady who he wanted to date, so this is how he decided to do that. After treatment, he married her and became a bigger shopping mall. Then, I felt so much proud and fruits as a doctor.”

Anyway, director Yeom has supported to do the surgery for people who have cleft lips by visiting Mongol for a time being. Normally, the current medical volunteering work was about to pull the decayed tooth temporarily. However, Seoul Medical Volunteering gave lots of supporting to do the cleft lips surgery by their aggressive support. 

“In Korea, when babies are young. Usually, within 6 months, the patients who have like that disease will have to get the surgery. If can be shown but not many people just passed by without looking at the person and also, if there is a tiny scar there, it has no problem with being social at al. However, when I went there, many patients like having that problem and they were living under the standard of life. So it was not evitable to do the operation.”  

Director expressed his plan that he would like to give more pretty smiles for many children as a gift with the international volunteering. Doctor Yeom, Moon-eob wants to upgrade Korea’s medical level as teach of other international dentist and he is the very man to educate up the level of Korean hospital service.
