우연한 계기였다. 헤어디자이너가 된 것은. 가난한 농부의 아들로 태어나 전세계 헤어의 한 축을 이룬 비달사순을 우연히 접하면서 헤어디자이너의 꿈을 키운 이해진 원장이다. 그의 신념은 남다르다. “고객의 헤어스타일을 창조하는 일, 중요합니다. 그러나 헤어디자인을 하기 앞서 마음까지 디자인한다는 생각을 잊지 않고 있습니다.” 근본이 잊혀지기 쉬운 이즈음에, 이 원장의 가치관은 놀라울만치 확고하다. ‘네가 이 자리에 있는 이유를 항상 생각한다면 너는 이 오랜 시간이 흐른 그 순간에도 여기 있을 것’이라는 스승의 말씀을 새겨 온 까닭이다. 그러므로, 바이진2는 다르다. 2009년 바이진을 처음 오픈한 이후, 2012년 바이진2로 이어지기까지 ‘바이진’은 ‘헤어디자이너 학교’로 자리매김되고 있다. 지방에서 온 헤어디자이너 지망생에게는 기숙사를 제공하고, 디자이너가 되었을 때 정착지원금을 전달하며, 제대로 독립할 수 있을 때까지 지속적인 지원과 컨설팅을 진행한다. 스트레칭 강사를 초빙해 헤어 스테프들의 뭉친 근육을 편안히 풀어주며, 그들이 헤어디자인을 정식으로 배울 수 있도록 가르쳐주고 지켜봐준다. 모든 헤어디자이너 및 스테프는 3층 전관 아래층에 마련된 직원실에서 주1회 2시간 이상 필수 교육코스를 이수하도록 돕고 있다. “최상의 헤어디자인을 위해서는 정확한 인재들이 바로 서 있어야 합니다. 그들이 바른 마음가짐일 때 고객의 완벽한 스타일이 가능하지요.” 계명전문대학교, 동산정보산업고 등 문화·예술 전문학교에서 미용관련 인재를 적극 스카웃하고 후진을 적극 양성하고 있는 바이진2. 작은 변화가 헤어디자인의 큰 물결을 이루고 있다.
