부정적인 인식이 팽배한 주식시장에서 자신의 이익만을 좇지 않고 전문적인 투자자문을 통해 개미투자자들의 절대 신으로 불리고 있는 복재성 대표. 그가 운영하고 있는 ‘주식투자로 100억 만들기(http://cafe.daum.net/redstock100)카페’는 다음(Daum) 47만 명, 네이버(Naver) 8만 명의 대규모 주식카페로서 많은 개인투자자들에게 성지로서의 역할을 톡톡히 해내고 있다. 

노력으로 빚어낸 값진 결과

‘20대 슈퍼개미’로 주목받기 시작했을 무렵 그는 보다 많은 사람들에게 주식 정보를 제공하기 위해 카페를 개설, 매일 무료로 자신의 종목을 추천해주기 시작했다. 19살에 이미 300만원이라는 돈으로 주식투자를 시작해 슈퍼개미로 성공한 그가 아무런 대가 없이 이런 일을 하게 된 이유는 과연 무엇일까?

고등학교 시절 입학비리의 희생양이 된 채 대학진학에 고배를 마셨던 그는, 쓰디쓴 좌절을 맛보고 더 이상 한국에서의 학업을 이어나갈 수 없었다. 유학을 결심했지만 당시의 경제적 상황도 좋지 못했던 탓에 스스로 돈을 벌어야 했다. 각종 아르바이트로 모은 자본금 300만원으로 무작정 주식시장에 뛰어든 그는 정말 단기간에 돈을 모두 잃었다. 이후 절에 들어가 주식공부를 본격적으로 시작, 원리를 파악해가면서 주식을 이해하게 됐고 나름대로의 기법을 정리해 나갔다. 시행착오를 겪어가며 서툴렀던 부분들을 개선해 나가면서 천천히 자신만의 스타일을 찾게 된 그는 그렇게 1년 간 정신없이 주식에 매달렸고 평생 먹고 살 정도의 큰돈을 벌 수 있었다. 본격적으로 전업매매를 하기 시작할 무렵 모 사이트에서 열리는 애널리스트와 일반인들 간의 실전투자대회에서 3개월 간 1등을 차지, 애널리스트로 스카우트 되어 정식 활동을 하기에 이른 복재성 대표의 나이 23세.

대한민국 최연소 애널리스트라는 기록을 세우며 부와 명예를 모두 가지게 됐지만 이미 주식으로 많은 부를 쌓았던 그로서는 회사의 이익을 위해 일해야 하는 애널리스트 생활에 회의를 느끼기 시작했고 증권사에서의 더 이상의 비전이 보이지 않았다고 한다. 새로운 꿈을 찾아 은퇴를 결심했지만 막상 아무런 계획이 없었던 그는 증권계를 떠나 고향에서 무료봉사를 하며 시간을 보내고 있었는데 그런 와중에도 그를 따르는 사람들이 삼삼오오 모여들기 시작했다. 친목의 목적으로 모이기 시작한 모임은 금세 그 수를 헤아릴 수 없을 정도로 불어났고 그는 손실로 힘들어 하는 개인투자자들을 돕겠다는 생각으로 카페를 개설, 무료로 종목 추천을 해주면서 보람을 느끼기 시작했다. 그것은 복재성 대표의 인생에 남을 위한 첫 번째 일이었다고. 

하지만 회원이 몰리게 되면서 크고 작은 잡음이 생기기 시작했다. 모든 사람을 만족시키는 데에는 한계가 있었던 것. 감당하기 힘들었던 시간들을 견뎌내고 유료회원으로 카페를 전환하면서 말 그대로 복재성 대표를 믿고 따르는 사람들로만 구성된 카페의 모습을 띄게 됐고 개인의 이익을 배제한 투명한 운영과 전문적 자문을 통해 개인 투자자들을 위한 회사로 자연스럽게 발돋움하게 됐다. 

복재성 대표는 스스로 별 볼일 없는 사람이라고 말한다. 그는 사람들이 자신을 따르는 이유는 현재 증권시스템의 문제에서 비롯되는 것이라고 역설했다. 그렇다면 많은 사람들이 원하는 시스템을 구축해 보자라는 생각으로 개미투자자들을 위한 증권투자전문업체를 만들기로 결심, 현재 단계적 성장을 하고 있는 시점이다. 증권 정보 제공 서비스는 그대로 유지하고 있으며 최근 주식을 전문적으로 가르치는 증권아카데미를 설립해서 운영 중에 있다. 

세계 속 금융 강국으로 도약하길 

대부분의 증권 교육 기관은 고단가로 강의하고 있으며 검증 없이 투입되는 강사진도 많다. 오랜 시간 고민하고 준비해온 만큼 일반인들이 부담 없이 공부할 수 있는 아카데미를 꾸려나가고자 최선을 다하고 있는 그는 3년간의 준비 과정을 거쳐 지난해 8월 ‘JS증권아카데미’를 설립했다. 회사 자체에서 실력 있는 애널리스트를 강사로 투입하고 강의시간도 일반학원과 동일한 시스템으로 구축해 대한민국 국민 누구나 주식을 배우고자 하는 사람이라면 언제든 찾아와 자연스럽게 증권을 접할 수 있도록 했다.

많은 사람들이 단기간의 소액투자로 고수익을 내기 바란다. ‘JS증권아카데미’는 그런 사람들에게 전문적이고 정확한 정보를 제공하기 위해 시작한 교육 사업이다. 스스로도 교육이라는 분야에 갈증을 느꼈던 그가 현장에서 직접 체험하고 습득한 노하우를 바탕으로 주식의 부정적 인식을 바꾸고 대중화에 앞장서고자 한 것. 

그는 전국적으로 오프라인 아카데미 확장을 꿈꾸고 있다. 주식 성공사례를 많이 만들어 자신보다 성공하는 사람들이 많이 나오길 바란다고 말하는 그는 스스로 그들의 롤모델이 되고 많은 사람들에게 희망을 선사하며 실패하더라도 다시 일어날 수 있는 용기를 북돋아 주고 싶다고 했다. 그는 앞으로 자신과 뜻을 같이 하는 사람들과 함께 증권 대학을 설립하는 것이 최종 목표라고 한다. 입학 조건은 없지만 졸업은 까다롭게, 체계적 교육을 통해 전문 금융인을 양성하고 싶다고 밝힌 복재성 대표. 한국의 월스트리트를 꿈꾸며 세계 속 금융 강대국의 초석을 다지길 기대해 본다.

A precious result achieved through effort

By the time he had been noted as a "super individual investor" in his twenties, he opened an internet cafe to recommend to individual investors for free the type of stocks he has chosen. Why did he do it for free?

Failing in his entrance exam for college for some unfair reason, he decided to go overseas to study. But his financial situation made him give up the hope, and he had to make money on his own. He could make a nest egg of 3 million Won by doing many part time jobs when he jumped into the stock market. This time, he lost all the money in the blink of an eye.

After the bitter experience, he started learning in earnest about stocks. He could understand little by little the principles of stock investment, and summarize his own investment methods. Forming his own investment style, he concentrated on stock investment for almost an year, and finally succeeded in making money enough to live on for the rest of his life.  

It was only when he was 23 that he won 3 consecutive first places in an internet site-hosted contest where analysts, experts and laymen alike, actually invest money. Of course he was scouted as a professional analyst. But already having earned fame and wealth, he could have no vision with brokerages.

After retiring with no concrete plan, he spent time offering volunteer activities in his hometown. In the mean time, his followers gathered in twos and threes and he felt like to helping individual investors who suffer from losses in their investment. He opened an internet cafe, and recommended promising types of stock to them for free. Then he found his life worth living. It was the first time in his life that he did something for others. But problems, large or small, kept occurring as the number of cafe members increased. 

Mr. Bok, after going through all those hard times, decided to turn the cafe into a paid one, which made it a place only for those who really believe and follow him. The new-born cafe grew up, with no effort, into a company which can help individual investors, simply doing transparent management and giving professional advice without considering private interests. 

Wishing Korea to become a financial power in the world

The representative Bok. emphasized "People follow him because of the problems in the current stock trading system. So he decided to build a securities-related consulting company in an effort to provide individual investors with the system they have longed for. He made preparations for the project for three years, and finally founded JS Securities Academy on August last year. It is now gradually going through stages of development. Still he is offering information on securities, and recently, he started to teach his students exclusively about stocks.

Many people want to get high yields with short-term investments. JS Securities Academy is a training business to give accurate and professional information just for them. In other word, he is taking the initiative in altering negative perceptions about stock investments and popularize them, using the know-hows he experienced and learned in the field.  

He is also planning to expand the academy nationwide. "My final goal is to found a securities college, together with those who share dreams with me., he said, "You can enter it with no condition, but you can not leave it without difficulty. I wish to provide systematic training courses for the students, thus making them professional financiers.

I hope he will be able to build a foundation for Korea to become a financial power in the world.
