교육과학기술부 이주호장관, 아현산업정보학교 방문

교육과학기술부 이주호장관은 1월 17일(화), 아현산업정보학교(교장 허화병)를 현장 방문하여, 학교 부적응 학생들의 적성과 특성을 살린 직업교육 및 인터넷 중독 학생들에 대한 효과적인 대처 방안을 모색하기 위하여  e-sports 코스 전공 학생 및 지도교사들과 간담회를 가졌다. e-sports course는 인터넷 게임에 중독 된 학생들을 프로게이머 육성 및  e-sports 분야 전문가로 육성시키는 프로그램이다. 이번 간담회에 참석한 학생(e-sports 취업예정, 19세)은 이 학교에 오기 전, 혼자만의 세계에 빠져 밤새도록 인터넷 게임에 몰입했으나, 학교에서의 직업 교육 프로그램을 통해 게이머로서의 자긍심을 갖는 등 소질과 진로에 대한 새로운 전환을 맞게 되었다고 말했다. 이 자리에서 이주호 장관은 최근 학교폭력의 원인 중에 인터넷 게임 중독의 심각성을 지적하며, 학생들에게 올바른 정보통신 문화의식과 가치관을 심어주고 자발적·자율적으로 올바른 인터넷 이용습관을 갖도록 하는 환경구축이 필요하다고 강조하고, 이번 학교폭력 근절 대책 수립에 인터넷 게임 중독에 대한 대책 방안을 포함시켜 반영하여 적극적으로 추진해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.

아현산업정보학교는 일반계고에서 진학을 포기한 고등학교 3학년 학생들을 대상으로 적성과 특기를 살린 직업교육 및 인터넷 중독 학생들에 대한 “e-sports course" 운영하는 실험적이면서 모범적인 학교로 알려져 있다. 

이번 방문에는 이주호 장관을 비롯하여 고영현 교과부 교육복지국장, 이대영 서울시교육청 교육감 직무대행, 강성봉 진로직업교육과장을 포함하여 많은 교육정책 담당자가 수행하였다. 이주호 장관은 이날 오후, 일선학교에서 학생생활지도를 담당하는 교사 12명을 장관실로 초청·간담회를 통하여, 최근 학교폭력과 관련된 교사들의 생생한 현장 의견을 청취할 계획이다. 이 자리에서 이주호 장관은 교사들이 파악하고 있는 학교폭력의 실상과 함께 학생지도의 고충을 청취하고, 학교폭력 문제에 대한 교사의 역할이 가장 중요하다고 강조하면서, 교사들이 학생생활지도에 최선을 다할 수 있는 환경을 만들 계획이다.

특히, 학교폭력 문제에 적극적으로 대처하는 모범적인 지도사례를 발굴하여 우수학교 및 교원에 대하여 기관표창, 수석교사 선발시 우대 등 인센티브를 부여하는 방안을 적극 추진할 계획이다.

Minister Lee Jooho of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, visited Ahyeon Polytechnic School (principal Heo Hwabyoung) January 17(Tuesday)and held a meeting with e-sports students and guidance teachers in order to come up with an effective plan for dealing with vocational education nurturing the student's aptitude and characteristics who can't maladjust to school and internet addicted students. e-sports course is the program with which the internet addicted students 

can be fostered to professional gamers and experts in the field of e-sports. A student (scheduled to be employed, 19 years old) attending the meeting said that he was immersed in internet games all night long being plunged into the world of his own before he came to this school, but he is now taking on a new turn over for his talent and course, having strong self-esteem through the vocational education programs in the school. 

The minister Lee in the meeting pointed to the seriousness of internet game addiction that is one of the reasons of school violence, put emphasis on the construction of the environment in which the students can have the habit of using internet voluntarily and autonomically, and it is necessary to plant right IT cultural consciousness and values in their minds. He made it know that he would push ahead with including and reflecting prevention measure for internet game addiction in building  countermeasures of eradicating school violence.

Ahyeon Polytechnic School is known as an experimental and model school running e-sports course for internet addicted students and education training that is nurturing their aptitude and talents,

targeted at high school seniors who gave up on going to college in normal high schools.

In this meeting, minister Lee is accompanied by the following people: the director of educational welfare of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Lee Daeyoung an acting superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Kang Seongbong the head of career vocational education division, and other many persons in charge of educational policies. In the afternoon, Minister Lee plans to invite twelve teachers who are in charge of school counseling in schools to the office of minister, through the meeting he intends to listen to the vivid opinion of the educational arena from teachers who are involved with school violence recently. 

In this meeting, Minister Lee plans to listen to the difficulty of the teachers on student guidance together with the truth of school violence that teachers grasp, and to create the environment where they can do their best in their school counseling, putting emphasis on the fact that the role of teachers about school violence is the most important.

Especially, he will push forward with the plan that, by finding models of guidance case that actively  cope with the school violence problem, best schools and teachers will win official commentation, giving organization award to the school, and special treatment or incentives to the teachers for selecting top class teachers.
