IN 2011, we saw various political issues(both domestic and international) emerging, such as the FTA with the US, the death of Kim Jeong Il etc.

Due to the movements of "Arab Spring", "Occupy Wall Street", and the deaths or step-downs of dictators in the world, the rejection of existing dictatorships and old leadership by the general public has become a worldwide trend.

In 2010, Korean society also witnessed to the desire of its people for new leadership erupting, filled with distrust of, and dissatisfaction with the existing political parties, whether in power or opposition.

Meeting these political needs of the Korean public, the Grand Vision Party was formed to achieve sweeping political reforms targeting a top-ranking, world-leading G3, and culture nation.

Progress Based on "Stable Conservatism"

Progressive "Authentic Conservatives" Declared the Forming of a New Political Party.

The grand Vision Party was formed on Dec. 9, 2011, with the aim of realizing a top-ranking nation in the 21st century. Its inaugural convention was held at Ilwon Church in Seoul, with the attendance of its 100 promoters or so.

¡®Mr. Park Yoo Byung, chairman of the Grand Vision Party, said "The existing political parties have done nothing for the ordinary people, though they keep claiming they are pro-working class. He also revealed, "The Grand Vision Party, on the contrary, will carry out political reforms to produce realistically public-oriented policies under the grand vision of a "Top-Ranking, World-Leading G3 nation."

Chairman Mr. Park expressed his determination to nominate candidates to as many constituencies as possible in the coming general elections. He expected that they could win at least 10 seats in the National Assembly, so would secure a bridgehead for the Presidential election in 2012. The Grand Vision Party is making preparations for setting up its headquarters and 10 to 11 chapters by the end of Feb. 2012.

The Grand Vision Party to Build a World Top-Ranking Nation

"The Korean public has an intense distrust of the privileged class, and the economy is the worst after the IMF crisis in 1998. It is important to restore economic stability through stabilizing our politics, but what's worse is that distrust of the existing leadership and fear about the future is mounting among the public. That is why we formed the Grand Vision Party for the silent majority."

"Now it is important to ease the anxiety of people caused by the recent economic situations and unstable politics." Concerning the ever-worsening FTA issues, the chairman said "We do need the FTA, but if its benefits do not spread to the majority of people, we will face serious problems." He pointed to the severity of economic problems and the need for expansion of welfare, by mentioning that the widening gap between income brackets makes it difficult for the ordinary people to stand up on their own, so we should offer them new welfare projects.

Chairman Park exhibited his strong will to select all members of the central executive committee as soon as possible and concentrate, with a global mind, on solving the following problems:

1. Youth Unemployment

2. Senior Citizens' Welfare

3. Conglomerates' Monopoly And Oligopoly on the Market

4. Support for the Self-Reliance of Farming And Fishing Villages

5. Security of Water, Food, And Energy Supply

6. Support for Corporate Activities in the World Market

History will absolutely progress.

"Speaking of progress, I would like to add that history will absolutely progress. But in the process, we must encompass both the conservatives and the liberals, as progressive social growth is impossible without economic and social stability." said the chairman. He argued for a "Progressive Conservatism", in other words, a realistic conservatism to achieve the growth of national interests keeping in line with world opinion.

He anticipated that all over the world, in 2012, we would see discard of the unfair old leadership and shift to a new leadership paradigm.

"During their adolescences, children live with the values of their parents at home. So, parents with good values would raise their children into having good values. This is also true of politics.", said the chairman, "If people takes a wrong path, politicians shall lead them into the right path." He commented "We need people who serve for the majority and continuously study and endeavor for the mission with enthusiasm. The Ahn Cheol-soo wave is a choice of the public and reflection of our time."

Governing People But Always Leading Them into the Right Path

Modern society is facing many difficulties: divisions in society due to the presence of nuclear families, manpower problems for medium and small-sized businesses, tight labor markets for university students, and rising education costs etc. All of them are not easy to handle or find a solution to. What is worse, they all concern young people.

Chairman park said "We need to take extraordinary measures for the young people, our future, and education should be organized more systematically to that purpose."

I could feel from the remark his urge to make the world a better place for children to live in.

He emphasized the roles of the present politicians, and concluded by saying "Only those who have right values and altruistic mind could govern people properly."
