삼성전자, 중동의 대표 이동통신사업자인 모바일리에
LTE 기지국 1000식 공급
삼성전자는 지난 28일 스페인 바르셀로나에서 열린 ‘모바일 월드 콩그레스 2012’에서 중동의 대표 이동통신사업자인 모바일리에 LTE 기지국 1000식을 공급한다고 밝혔다.
삼성전자의 이번 LTE 장비는 모바일리가 지난해 9월 중동 최초로 일부 주요 도시를 중심으로 서비스해 온 LTE 서비스가 성공적으로 진행됨에 따라 중동 사우디 전국으로 LTE 서비스를 확대하기 위해 추가 증설 목적으로 공급하게 되는 것이다. 특히, 삼성전자는 이번 LTE 기지국 1000식 공급 외에도 모바일리의 전체 4G 서비스의 네트워크 유지·보수도 함께 제공하므로, 어떠한 상황에서도 최상의 네트워크 환경을 유지할 수 있도록 할 예정이다.
칼리드 알카프(Khalid Al-kaf) 모바일리 CEO는 “성공적인 LTE 상용서비스 런칭에 이어, 삼성과 지속적으로 더욱 향상된 모바일 서비스 제공을 위해 협력하게 되어 기쁘다”며 “4G LTE 서비스는 스마트 기기로 얼마나 사람들의 생활이 더 풍부해질 수 있는지 보여줄 것”이라고 말했다.
삼성전자 관계자는 “4G 기술에 대한 오랜 노하우와 다양한 사업 경험으로 국내뿐 아니라 미국, 일본, 중동 등 글로벌 LTE 리딩 국가를 중심으로 사업이 확대되고 있다”며 “고객들에게 차별화된 제품과 최상의 서비스를 제공해 장기적인 파트너십을 형성하는 데 주력해 나갈 예정”이라고 말했다. 삼성전자는 현재 최대 LTE 시장인 미국, 한국을 비롯한 일본, 중동에 LTE 상용 시스템을 공급하고 있으며, 유럽, 아시아, 중남미 등 전세계 30여개 사업자와 LTE 사업 협력을 협의 중이다.

Samsung electronics made statement to the public at 'Mobile World Congress 2012', held in Barcelona Spain at last 28th, that they supplied 1000 LTE base station to Mobily the representative mobile carrier of Middle East. The LTE device of Samsung Electronics, according to successful progress of LTE service that Mobily has been providing service focused on few major cities of Middle East in the last November for the first time, will supply in purpose of additional expansion to extend LTE service all over the Middle East Saudi Arabia. Especially, by supplying both network sustainability · conservation of Mobily's overall 4G service other than supplying 1000 LTE base station, Samsung Electronics is expecting to maintain best network environment under any circumstances. Khalid Al-kaf the CEO of Mobily stated "It is delightful to cooperate with Samsung to provide more enhanced mobile service continuously following the success of LTE commercial service launching" and "Will show how LTE service by smart devices can offer enricher people's lives."
Samsung Electronics officials stated "Based on long knowhow and various business experience on 4G technology the business is expanding based on global LTE leading countries such as America, Japan, Middle East, and such" and "Expecting to concentrate on forming long term partnership by providing differentiated product and best service to their customers." Samsung Electronics is currently providing LTE commercial service to best LTE market America, Korea, Japan, and Middle East; also discussing LTE busines cooperation with 30 business partners all over the world such as Europe, Asia, Latin America, ETC.
