Samsung opens a temporary store on 125 Champs-Elysees

Samsung Electronics is running a temporary store on Champs-Elysees from May 3 to October 31. The store is a collaboration with Jean Nouvel who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize and is inspired from 17th French salon and Samsung's openness. The opening ceremony of the store on April 29 was attended by officials of the IOC and famous athletes including Johanne Defay, Karam Singh and Ugo Didier. Taemoon Noh, Samsung Electronics MX division head in his speech said that advances in technology had brought new breezes to the Olympics and Samsung had been its Worldwide Partner for the last 40 years, adding that, Samsung's openness suited perfectly with the slogan of the Paris 2024 Olympics 'Games Wide Open'. Jean Nouvel said that the concept of the store, run in line with the Olympics, is melted with limitless movements of the light visibly present to the visitors. The store is open to all and various sports events are taken place for people to try within the store while Samsung's smartphone lines are also show cased.

Samsung and Zeiss strenthen cooperation

Jaeyong Lee, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, met Karl Lamprecht, CEO of Zeiss, on April 26 in Oberkochen, Germany, to strengthen cooperation. Zeiss is a German optics company holding more than 2,000 patents for extreme ultraviolet technologies which are essential for semiconductor production. Zeiss is exclusively suppling optical systems mounted on ASML's EUV equipment. There are more than 30,000 Zeiss parts that go into one EUV equipment. Lee and Lamprecht discussed on core technologies of semiconductor, market trend, and mid and long term road map. Lee toured the Zeiss factory and observed how up to date semiconductor parts and equipment are made. Samsung plans to lead the ultra-fine process below 3 nanometers in the foundry market and to mass produce 6th generation 10 nanometer DRAM within this year by using EUV process. Zeiss, on the other hand, plans to build an R&D center before 2026 in South Korea by pouring 48 billion won.
