Natural materials are still being used in many areas such as cosmetics, food and medicine although synthetic technologies are there to be used. The is because some materials can only be gained naturally amid people’s awareness of healthy substances is increasing. Brain’s Lab recently is in the center of attention for developing more than 30 kinds of original natural materials and for hiring the disabled.

More than 30 kinds of original natural materials of Brian’s Lab is being used for health food and suppliments, cosmetics, quasi drugs and many more. From productoin to storage and delivery including OEM and ODM, all processes are directly managed by the company and the latest equipment and facilities make storage and packing hassle-free. A company official says “The separation, taping and sticking of the boxes at the facilities are carried out by the disabled and they are capaible of the secondary repair according to the needs and wants of the clients. As for the logistics, we are working in cooperation with highly experienced partners in the field.”

 

A farm with spirulina culture in Goheung

One of the strengths of Brian’s Lab is that it runs its own farm in Goheung, South Jeolla Province. The farm is managed by Dr. Song Woo-si who worked at the King Sejong Station in the South Pole as a marine life resources reseacher. The farm is capaible of culturing the targeted crops and of materializing the effective and safe-proved materials. The researchers are not affected by outside influence so that they can carry on their set-targets and goals. 

Currently, the farm is cultivating yellow flower ground gyro that has effect of cooling, detoxing and helping to treat malaria, jaundice and labor pains. It is known to be good for womb, diuretic action, immunity, reflux esophagitis, bronchitis, gastritis, wathening and dandruff. The farm also is cultivating geumhwagyu that is the original material of vegetable collagen. According to an old medicine book Boncho Gangmok, it is good for blood pressure, sleep, immunity, mental and physical stability, and kidney. The spirulina incubator in the farm, in particular, directly extracts and refines for the use in food and cosmetics, and possibly for medicines depending on the result of R&D. 

 

The disabled working alongside the abled

CEO Cho Min-hae says that hiring the disabled is a no-brainer and a duty of the owner of a company. Park Seung-yun who worked at a disabled self-support center and the head of the company’s research division says that he wants to hire the disabled in the R&D sector also if possible. 

Brian’s Lab obtained Standard Workplace for the Disabled with which the company can receive the contribution benefit. As for this, the director of the company says he hopes that all staff and employees at Brian’s Lab work together and conbritue to the society and the nation. 

Brain’s Lab obatined CGMP-level ISO22716 and has been running its cosmetics factory in the Namwon Cosmetics Biz Center since January 2023. Director Park says that the company goals to open a gallery cafe and residence where autistic artists and their families can display their work and rest. 

Recently, Brian’s Lab signed a business agreement for co-development of hair function food with the Center of Natural Resources Research of the Jeonnam Bio-industry Promtotion Agency, and Younglong. Brian’s Lab is set to take national projects for turning regional natural resources to high value added. The company also signed a business agreement with the Yeongcheon Medicinal Crops Industrialization Support Center for development of health functional food. Jo says that he will keep introducing natural products loved by consumers and clients. Kim says that Brian’s Lab will keep expanding scope of business alongside materials development according to the needs of the future.
