3D printing is a technology that enables shapes that cannot be manufactured with existing mold processes. For this reason, it is mainly used in manufacturing industry. This technology is more suitable for customized product manufacturing or small-lot production of various products. Recently, the bio-printing technology that even prints tissues and organs of living organisms in 3D, beyond plastics and metals, is playing a leading role to attract more attention from industry officials and entrepreneurs.

Led by two CEOs Kim Jae-sang and Oh Seong-mook, all staff at Chaewoora are 3D printing experts. The company was chosen for 2022 Youth Entrepreneurship Academy by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency for excellence in signboard 3D printing capabilities. A signboard announces the location of the store, provides business information, and serves as the face of the brand. All equipment is designed and developed by 3D experts of the company and the manufacturing is processed in speed, precision and, above all, cost-effectiveness. This reduces the time by 30% and the cost by half according to CEO Kim Jae-sang. Because it is made with precision 3D printing technology instead of hands, customized design and shape are also possible without generating dusts.

The goal of Chaewoora is to make an environment where everyone can do 3D printing. The course run by experts at the company delivers all necessary knowledge and practice to the level of certificate from beginning. You can learn, for example, how to make a bluetooth speaker, a figure or an accessary in theory and skill. Kim says “So far, most of the courses are only showing or modeling the output with 3D printers. That’s why we are even conducting training for people to create their own 3D printers by making their own prints and combining them with coding.”

Chaewoora has recently developed a 3D printer, RAUM, and is generating funds. This printer enables precise output with LM guide and continuous output without filament with filament detection sensor. It uses a low-noise motor drive to reduce driving noise and has an auto-leveling function that always keeps the bed level by inserting a BL touch. RAUM has a chamber structure in which the top and front doors are completely sealed, so there is no worry about the leakage of fine substances even when used indoors, and the air inside the chamber is also purified because it is equipped with a HEPA filter. 

In particular, Slider, which is Chaewoora’s own software that automatically converts 2D (svg) files into 3D files for signs, allows even those who do not know how to do 3D modeling to create models with just a few clicks. In the case of the PRO model, 2 colors can be printed, so anyone can easily create the 3D model they want. Kim says “Chaewoora’s vision is to fill the void in the world with 3D printing technology. To this end, we plan to become the best in the industry by supplying convenient and safe 3D printers to schools and workplaces.”
