Signal is a veterinary hospital that provides accurate and friendly treatment by catching the signals of diseases that dogs complain about that might related to internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology and dentistry. Park Sang-hyun, a veteran who has treated animals for about 7 years since 2016, opened Signal Animal Hospital in Yeongdeungpo-gu in April last year. The goal of the signal is to treat the disease without missing even the smallest signals sent by the pets. Signal is seeing a pet for at least 30 minutes to an hour for this reason. Director Park said, “People know where they are sick, but pets do not. The owner thought his pet had a simple disease, but there are cases where it is not, and if you talk about the past history, the treatment time becomes a little longer.” As he treats pets with all his heart, even though he opened the clinic last year, the news circulate and some patients come as far away from Incheon. Park also has excellent medical skills in rehabilitation treatment. Pets, like humans, get old and have problems with their joints and bones. In winter, many pets complain of various symptoms and Park uses his career to provide professional rehabilitation exercises.

Establishing a cooperative system with higher organizations

Although Signal is a primary hospital, the equipment it runs is at the level of a secondary hospital and they are from leading domestic medical equipment companies. Signal uses an anesthetic machine from a German company Drager and increases the stability of anesthesia through multiple anesthesia monitoring. Signal also uses GE’s animal ultrasound machine and IDEXX’s blood test equipment. With this, Signal is performing patella dislocation surgery, bladder stone removal surgery, eye examination, and physical therapy. In particular, expensive high-voltage microcurrent therapy devices can effectively manage pain non-surgically. If treatment is not possible, Signal finds solutions through cooperation with top veterinary hospitals.

Making owners and pets happy

Park has a goal to make Signal a regional based animal hospital in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. To this end, Signal has a separate treatment room and a pet grave room and also operates on Sundays except for the first week. In the future, Signal plans to allow owners to leave their pets at the hospital on the way to work and pick them up on the way home. Signal also operates a 24-hour man-less pet supply store so that owners do not need to travel far to buy pet goods.
