Always with the residents of Dongnae

New Dongrae, Safe Dongrae and Happy Dongnae

Jang Jun-yong, the 8th civil elect who took office on July 1 this year, is celebrating half a year of term this month. At the beginning of his tenure, Jang said, “The residents’ demands were new changes and innovations for the future. With a heavy sense of responsibility, I want to listen to the small voices of the residents and make it a new Dongnae through change and innovation.” He promised to discover historical and cultural heritage with Dongnae’s unique identity, create a city where traditions live and breathe, and create an educational city that nurtures future talent. Dongnae-gu, as a special district for culture and education, held the Dongnae Culture and Education Festival last September to promote various programs.

The event featured performances by 19 teams, 8 lifelong learning activity zones, 11 career and job experience zones, 14 specialized business Fun & Fun activity zones, 4 booths in the Happy Experience Village, a drone zone, and a photo zone. Jang also participated in the event and mingled with the residents. Recently, he took part in the Dongnae Eupseong History Festival, which celebrated its 28th this year, alongside residents. Celebrating the 100th day of his inauguration during last October, Jang said, “Thank you to all the staff who have done their best in the work they have been assigned with me. In the past 100 days, I ran to make a clean Dongnae, and for the next 100 days, I will make a kind Dongnae and make it a Dongnae that I want to live even if I am reborn. Dongnae is good for education, small businesses, and history and tradition are alive and breathing, so all residents can enjoy the benefits of our culture together.”
