Ko Duk-sang, CEO of an agricultural corporation Eco Farm City, has been researching eco-friendly farming methods for over 20 years. As a result, he developed the KDS Convergence Agriculture. This method is the 6th agriculture that converges the primary industry such as agriculture, the secondary industry of manufacturing and processing, and the tertiary industry which is the service industry. Unlike conventional farming methods, KDS is characterized by all-in-one cultivation, production, processing, manufacturing, sales, and distribution using the principle of nature and science, and with cutting edge facilities and farming technologies. Eco Farm City is directly exporting eco-friendly, pesticide-free mineral foods such as Korean ginseng, premium red ginseng, and bellflower extract to the world. Activa-driven water is used to produce, process and manufacture anion, mineral activated water, and Activa 2000 that are being sold home and abroad.
Eco Farm City has been preparing to create an Eco Farm City of about 396,694 square meters, starting with a cutting-edge smart farm plant factory. Eco Farm City, located in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, plans to build an eco-friendly smart farm ginseng plant factory, a rural housing complex, a nature healing center, a convention trade center, and an eco-friendly agricultural product exhibition hall. CEO Ko Duk-sang says “We plan to realize the government’s IT and BT convergence ‘future growth industry’ such as a smart farm fully automated system that will drive job creation for youth, work-life balance, and an income business platform for a local self-supporting economy.”
