KOTRA holds KBEE 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam

KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held the ‘2022 Hanoi Hallyu Expo (KBEE 2022)’ at the International Exhibition Center in Hanoi, Vietnam from October 27 to 28. This year, in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Vietnam, Hanoi was selected as the host to strengthen economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries and promote friendship. Vietnam is South Korea’s third-largest trading partner and the largest trading partner in the ASEAN region. It is emerging as a major market for Korean companies, with GDP recording an annual growth rate of 5%, 1.7 times higher than the global average for the past 20 years. Last year, exports to Vietnam surpassed $2 billion for the first time, demonstrating the possibility of advanced domestic consumer goods products. During the exhibition this time, 136 domestic companies, including 118 companies in the consumer goods and 18 companies in the fields of edutech and content services participated in export conferences, exhibitions, and Hallyu marketing. 

 

KOTRA promotes cosmetics export by using reverse direct purchase

KOTRA and CJ Olive Young will hold ‘KOTRA-CJ Olive Young Global Special Promotion Exhibition’ for one month in November. The purpose of this event is to intensively market over 100 domestic cosmetics brands carefully selected by CJ Olive Young to promote sales through direct purchase. According to data from the Korea Customs Service, in 2021, the number of direct purchase exports and the amount of exports increased by 50.6% and 46.6%, respectively, to 40,497,000 trades and $1.745 billion. It seems that direct purchase is settling down as a new route for export of consumer goods. Products of participating companies are exposed to overseas consumers through ▲search portal (Google) keyword advertisement ▲SNS (Facebook) advertisement ▲discount coupon provision ▲influencer marketing. KOTRA Osaka Trade Center plans to actively promote sales events for Japanese consumers by using YouTube channels and Instagrams of local influencers. In addition, KOTRA supports overseas sales and exports of SMEs from various angles by arranging B2B consultations with buyers.
