Samsung Electronics expands its mobile waste product collection box 'Eco Box' globally

Samsung Electronics announced that it has installed Eco Box at service centers in 34 countries around the world, including the United States, Brazil, and Spain, and started collecting waste cell phones. The South Korean electronics giant plans to expand and build mobile waste collection boxes in all 180 countries around the world where Samsung  products are expected to be sold by 2030. The collected mobile phones are separated into battery raw materials and recycled through specialized companies certified by each country. The company's service centers in seven major countries, including Germany and the UK, are providing ‘Eco Delivery’ using bicycles or electric vehicles to deliver repaired products to the desired location. The company also provides a single unit repair service that maintains usable parts as much as possible and minimizes replacement parts. The company is also operating in each country the establishment of a 'paper-free system' that reduces paper use by converting paper prints into electronic documents and the application of eco-friendly materials for packaging materials.
